I think you should make an obi out of a beautiful patterned silk.  Threads magazine had an article about making these I just looked and it was the Sept 06 issue.

This is a gorgeous dress.  Great job.  I would love to make myself a dress like this but my sewing skills are not fantastic.  How would you rate your sewing skills?  I also love the fabric you used, where did you find it?

I thought I'd share my solution too.  When I did this a few years ago my budget was closer to $50 so I found a storage container (similar to this one at Target but cheaper http://tinyurl.com/cktoc5 ).  I just cut a hole in one of the sides without using a kitty door.  The nice thing is that I can store extra litter and the "litter locker" in it as well.  I lined the bottom and sides with vinyl to make cleaning easier if he missed the litter box.  It worked great for a while until my cat decided that peeing on the carpets is way more convenient than a litter box.  Now we have two boxes out in full view to tempt him back to the box.  Hopefully we can enclose the box again soon.  We are just afraid to make any changes and upset him into using the carpets again.

I love the recent dress you've chosen.  It is a great shape and isn't too hard.  I haven't read the previous 8 pages so I'd love it if you humor me and answer my questions.  Are you an experienced seamstress?  How much experience do you suggest for making the pattern you are doing.  Do you think the materials are going to be expensive (most lace I've seen is expensive)?  I can't wait to see the finished project.

These look great.  I always prefer v-necks to crew anyways.  Can I ask what you did?  Did you just sew a line of stitching and cut the fabric leaving a raw edge or did you turn it under?  I have a few shirts that could use this treatment.  Also, how did you decide on the shape and size of the V?

Thanks for any tips.

Dry ice is simply frozen carbon dioxide (the stuff we breathe out) and completely safe as long as we have oxygen to breathe in.  The only dangerous part is that it is much COLDER than regular water ice.  Therefore you can easily get frostbitten from handling it without gloves.  So although it is a chemical (so is water, milk, sugar), it is a safe chemical and is safe next to food.

Great cake!  I wish my mom would have made cool cakes like this Smiley

This looks great on you.  (My family had those sheets growing up.  Last I remember they were extremely worn out and now my dad uses them for painting, etc.)  I think the ruffles look very pretty but if you wanted to tone it down a little you could do piping around the neckline instead but keep the other ruffles.

It looks great.  I love the fabric.  Do you remember where you got it?

I think this is gorgeous.  I love it and want one too Smiley  I'll have to check and see if I have that issue of Burda.
