Crafty_dame, I had a creative writing class with her in 2006. Haven't seen her around lately, but once in a while I run into her. Torbot is such a cutie!!!

These are super cute! Love the GOTHmas one. I would have thought it would be really hard to embroider on vinyl... I've never worked with it, but I hear horror stories!

Funny thing, I think I may know the person the first bibs are for Smiley If so, then the vampire fangs are very fitting since she was in the DC production of Dracula...

Thank you both so much for the input!!

I wouldn't have been able to do anything without feeling guilty til I knew what fellow Craftsters thought Smiley

I love making these, so it would be nice to get a little something back from the effort. I guess my next task is to think of a price? Haha.

I'm glad Craftster is the kind of place where someone can ask what they think is a silly question and get real feedback Smiley

So I posted before... I'd made some pendants using seed beads rather than chip beads. I got my hands on some chip beads around Christmas time and made a few more Smiley

I also made one for my friend with amethyst-ish beads... but I gave it to her before I got photos.

Now, ethical dilemma time...
a few friends have offered to pay me to make them these. I know profiting from someone else's awesome idea (as far as I know phoenixfiredesigns is the brain behind this one!) is a no-no. Is it okay to accept payment to cover the cost of materials only? Cuz this stuff isn't cheap.

Another dilemma. A customer at the coffee shop where I work asked if I sold my pendants (I was wearing the green one). It seemed like a different situation than "selling" them to my friends.
Any thoughts?

Thanks guys (gals Tongue)!

6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Amanda Palmer & GTA tshirts on: December 29, 2008 06:01:35 PM
So there's an inside joke between some friends and I... it involves a police helicopter and an IGA roof.
This was a little after GTA4 came out, so of course it was on all of our minds...
So when the helicopter showed up, everyone said:
"A helicopter? Is that 5 stars?"
So I decided to make one of the people involved a tshirt to commemorate the event. I figured Christmas was a good excuse to break out the Xacto. Oh, and spray adhesive = <3

The front

The back

And the same guy gave me a bunch of music, some of which was Amanda Palmer. There was a stencil in the music folder, so I took it as a hint that he wanted a shirt of it.

And I decided it should be a pirate-themed gift. Sort of.

So I wrapped it in a slightly tacky pirate bandana. No-waste wrapping, plus he wears a bandana for work and I want to see if he uses this one

All wrapped up with a "card" burned and tea-stained and written with calligraphy pen. I had a lot of fun with this haha.

Might be able to get some action shots later... no promises though Tongue

@phoenixfiredesign

thanks! I can probably find a Michael's closer than the other bead stores near me... good to know they're not TOO expensive Smiley

I decided to try out making these pendants as a DIY Xmas gift for a few people... I figured the supplies would cost me less than it would to buy everyone a seperate gift. I'm not just cheap, I'm broke, too! Cheesy

I couldn't find any of the glass chip beads at my local bead store, so I got some translucent seed beads. I'm not quite sure how I feel about them. I made the green one first, then the orange, then blue. So far the orange is my favourite, it gave me the least trouble Smiley

I used 14ga wire for the outside, and I can't remember the gauge of the smaller wire. 20-something?

Any suggestions for bead kinds? I'm not sure how expensive the glass chip beads are... I'm definitely on a budget!

YES!
I second the poster above who immediately thought "Diva Cup bag" when they saw the thumbnail Smiley
I <3 my Diva, I'm always happy to see that lots of other people use them too!
