1  Socialization and Harry Potter in Stenciling: Completed Projects by catchfool on: December 19, 2005 07:34:55 AM
Here is a shirt I stenciled quite a while ago (picture right).  It reads "Harry and the Potters," which is a band that sings about Harry Potter and his adventures. <3 The Harry and the Potters design I didn't actually stencil; I freehanded the words out of frustration. Heh! My only grip is that the letters in "Potters" are waaaay too spaced out. Grr.

I wish I had a better picture of the shirts.

2  I give new meaning to the phrase "smarty pants." (Har har.) in Stenciling: Completed Projects by catchfool on: December 16, 2005 05:16:49 PM
Alright. So it was June 2005 and I was really sick of seeing girls with the trackpants that said "Juicy" on the butt.  They were EVERYWHERE!  So, being an English major, I figured I would stencil a big ol' word on the bootay of my own pantalones that would baffle everyone without a thesaurus or dictionary.

The result:

"Iniquitous", of course, means "corrupt," but I'm sure you already knew that.

Pretentious? Perhaps. Necessary? Absolutely.

3  painted purse -- a first attempt at wearable art in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by catchfool on: December 09, 2005 07:04:37 PM
Around a month ago, I was just sitting around being bored out of my natural mind. So I grabbed whatever fabric paint I could find in my desk's craft drawer (only four colors: black, blue, green, and white, unfortunately) and then picked up my old worn-out faux-leather purse which had definitely seen better days. There isn't anything like a painting project to combat severe boredom.

The design is supposed to vaguely emulate Van Gogh's "Starry Night" (picture). For never attempting any sort of artistic/painting endeavor before this, I'm very proud of myself! I'm really not the artsy type, truth be told. And I'm pretty dang proud of the fact that I only used four colors in the whole project! (Also, please ignore the pink paint smears on the palette in the photo, I didn't really rinse it out after my last project. Cheesy My bad.)

Since this project was very hastily done, I didn't bother to seal it. I figured that it was just a fun project for my idle hands. Now, I really wish I had purchased some sealant; the paint's peeling off and there's black showing through from the purse itself. Okay, okay. Lesson learned!
