21  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Beadmaking sketch on: February 17, 2008 10:06:53 PM
I made a whole bunch of beads in a flame working course over the weekend. It was ridiculously fun and I needed to sketch something with all my extra energy afterwards.

23  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / 5in Tapir Painting (added a couple more) on: February 04, 2008 10:43:08 PM

24  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A couple more teensy paintings on: February 01, 2008 11:17:20 PM
These two are 2in acrylics. I used some silver sharpie in the yeti to make his horn and the snowflakes stand out a little when viewed at an angle.

This guy is a bigger 5in acrylic painting.

25  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Teensy Paintings on: January 27, 2008 11:03:13 PM
These are all 2in tall on those mini canvases.

26  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Paper Bank Project with Cthulhu! on: January 26, 2008 09:30:31 PM
I've been making a bunch of paper banks lately. I put a big picture post about them in my art blog here:
http://tangrala.blogspot.com/2008/01/paper-wedgies.html

I made a pattern in Photoshop that I printed out and drew lots of sketches on. Afterwards I scanned the sketches in and cleaned up the linework and colored them with Photoshop. Then I print them on card stock and assemble them with craft glue. I've been really happy with the characters and made a whole pack that sit on top of my tv here at home. I think Cthulhu is my favorite. Smiley
27  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / How do I put Picassa web albums into a post? on: October 26, 2007 09:39:29 AM
I tried pasting the code like I do in blogger, but it posts the code in text rather than allowing the small album to appear. Anyone know how to do this?
28  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / paper mache Halloween deer hat on: October 24, 2007 08:02:28 PM

Here is the mask workspace in the living room. The lamp is equipped with a uv emitting black light. The final mask will have black light embellishments in the white areas to add extra stripy good times. The mask is mostly paper mache. I made a form of my head by putting aluminum foil and tape around me and then covering it in seran wrap and stuffing it with plastic bags. It fits my head perfectly. Cheesy The muzzle and ears have styrofoam in them to help make this a very light weight mask.

Side view in work area.

Hooray undead raver deer thingy hat!

The eyes are super birght LEDs. The switch is hidden under the pink mohawk.

The white feathers around the mohawk also glow under black light.

I'll post pics of the hat with the black light paint added later I promise!
29  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / BlueBot on: June 24, 2007 08:09:25 PM

BlueBot has his heart on a string. I used a sweet tip I read in the forums about drawing with soap pieces instead of using chalk. It worked great! Just have to be careful not to rub too much while you are working or the drawing disappears. Though you can always retrace things if they start to blur a bit. Only took a few hours to draw and stitch, but was alot of fun!
