1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Looking For Pattern? Ask here! on: September 02, 2011 10:13:29 AM
So I saw these super adorable hats at Penneys the other day...
http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=1b8f673&DeptID=73375&CatID=73475&SO=0&Ne=5+23+1031+18+904+949+833&x5view=1&NOffset=0&N=4294937278&Nao=21&PSO=0&CmCatId=73375|73475
but they are ridiculously over-priced, and I'm sure I could make one pretty easily.  However, I'm having some trouble wrapping my mind around how to do it.  I've tried searching for a garter stitch hat pattern, but haven't been able to find anything that I like.  Am I totally over-thinking this?  Could I just make a basic hat in garter stitch and just pick up stitches for the ear flaps?  Also, would it be easier to knit it flat and seam it?  I've made lots of hats on circular needles, but never in garter stitch.  Any input is appreciated!

My package from zzdia came on Friday!  It's super awesome, and I love it!

First off are two cool little bookmarks.  I love to read, so these will see a lot of use.

Next is an exploding TARDIS inspired key chain charm.  I really like the colors!

Then, an AMAZING drawing of David Tennant!  I love it!  I've already framed it, complete with a TARDIS blue background (my husband's idea).

And last, but certainly not least, is a fantastic little 10th Doctor doll.  He's great, and even comes with proper sticky-upy hair and a removable coat.

And here he is without the coat, showing off with my sonic.

Thanks zzdia!

Finally finished with my large, and almost done with my smalls!  I just have to make a few finishing touches and look for a suitable box, and then I'll be mailing it Saturday morning.  I'm really happy with what I made, and I hope my partner likes everything.

My husband and I watched Partners in Crime tonight.  One of my favorites!  I'm still working away on my large...it's coming along well, but it's taking me a while.  I'm excited to get working on my smalls!

I started working on my large, and it's coming along pretty well!  I have a feeling that when I'm done my husband is going to pester me into making another one for us...not that he'll have to pester very hard... Wink

I'm so excited for this swap!  My husband just got his hands on a bunch of 4th Doctor DVDs, and we've been watching those while we wait for season 6 to start.  I've got to say that I can totally see why so many people like Tom Baker's Doctor.  He's great!

My package from GrindHouseHussy was super full and awesome!  She really went all out, so lots of pictures!

Crocheted goodness!  A Flash scarf, two i-pod cozies (can't really tell, but the blue one is being modeled by my i-pod...fits like a glove), and some hooks.

Two magnets, a Sheldon light switch plate, and some sweet buttons.

A really, REALLY awesome dice game and a box to carry it in.

And a close-up of the dice, 'cause they're so cute!

More magnets.

A rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock clock.  My husband is in love with it!

And lastly, two necklaces, hair ties, lip balm, and some tastey treats.  There were candy bars too...but I ate them...

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  What a great package!
