Yogurt is wonderful for dogs as long as you get the kind with live bacteria and no artificial sweeteners.
For my boy Sully's birthday this year we made peanut butter banana yogurt paws. Mix plain yogurt, mashed banana and peanut butter together, put in ice cream machine and let freeze partially, then spread out on cookie sheet in a flat layer. Freeze solid, remove cookie sheet and use paw cookie cutter to cut out paw shaped treats. Freeze in individual baggies. We also had homemade sweet potato biscuits and peanut butter-carrot cupcakes.
Sully get yogurt on top of his food about 3 times a week, alternating with different pureed veggies. So that I don't overdo the yogurt, a frozen treat he can have daily is canned pureed pumpkin (plain, not pie-spiced!) put into an ice cube tray and then frozen. He LOVES these! So if you're worried about dairy, this is another good option.
Wow, Seamus said he is coming over to have dinner with Sully!!
