Where dost thou go?  Wink

I bought some fabric way-back-when in the Queen/Spadina area.

And I'm finally getting set to make something.

But I don't have any thread, buttons, etc.  And I want ribbon, etc.

Plus dressmaker's chalk, along with other general sewing supplies.

(I've already got a machine, thank God.)

2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Sew U Home Stretch on: May 14, 2007 08:31:34 AM
Does anyone know anything about this book?

The only thing I could find was the title... Undecided

If it's the second coming of Sew U, I want a copy.

6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Nervous? on: June 28, 2006 02:25:11 PM
I am. Here I am, a grown woman, scared of selling. I finally put something up in my Etsy shop.  I have my first item all but sealed and sent off. I went off and priced it at Canada post. The packaging is cute, at least for my first time...And I'm afraid.  Embarrassed  I'm worried that my bracelet will fall apart, that the glue won't hold, etc.

Has anyone else felt scared before they sold their goodies?  Huh
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Wire? Thread? on: June 24, 2006 08:05:42 PM
I'm guessing that many of you have seen those necklaces (and perhaps bracelets) that have spaces in between each bead or gemstone. What are those made with?  The material always looked like something synthetic, like a type of plastic...But I'm not sure.

Does someone out there know what I mean? Huh

I would like to make one of these necklaces, but apart from the beads, I'm not certain exactly of what I'm supposed to thread them onto. Hence the title of this post.

It almost looks like plastic wire...If such a thing exists. Huh

Or at least, the only one I've put online.

Here's another shot:

Do you think I should put 'er up for sale?  I keep getting the urge to.

More about me:  I love making things, but I don't usually have patience enough to see my passion through.  But I'm thinking about it.  Wink I have boxes and bags of abandoned craft supplies in various spots. Beads are my latest muse.

I enjoy making bracelets. The simple ones I've been making are fun and pretty straightforward to make.

Feedback appreciated!!  Grin
9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Labor Charges on: March 04, 2004 10:20:20 AM
Hi Everyone! Smiley

I'm new to this site.  I was wondering...Do you think $5.00/hour is a realistic charge for labor--when selling knit items?
