1  My 1st Zentangle / Zendala in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by craftyLynny on: July 02, 2009 08:11:57 AM
So the other day I saw Gwenny415's finished Zentangle and wanted to give it a try http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=311201.0.  First off, I didn't even know what a Zentangle or Zendala was.  If you need more info about them try out this link http://www.milliande.com/Zendala-How-To-Draw-A-Mandala-Zentangle-Style.html.  Zentangles and Zendala are a great stress reliever with all the repeating patterns and tangles...you get lost in it and they take no time to make!  Hope you like  Smiley

This is my first Zendala (it's a Zendala b/c it mimics a Mandala circle)

My swap partner didn't post any pics of what I sent her so I figured I'd post them.  Here's what I sent to Melba:

A green lariat necklace

Tattoo flash keychain

Irish lace/ clover crochet scarf

Melted felt wristband

I also made her cute little bobby pins, but forgot to take  picture of them.

3  Re: First post, first scarf! CLOVER SCARF Tutorial! in Crochet: Completed Projects by craftyLynny on: March 18, 2006 01:53:52 PM
Hi Koi, I just realized that we were both participating in the Accessorize Me 3 swap!  I wanted to thank you for the clear tutorial you post b/c I made this scarf for my swap partner!   I tweaked it a bit and made it a "skinny" scarf by doing 2 clovers on each row instead of three.  Here it is.

PS- It's really long, but you can't tell b/c I've got it doubled over in the pic.

7  2 Bracelets for Bracelet Swap in Beads: Completed Projects by craftyLynny on: January 26, 2006 10:44:36 AM
Hey guys, I just finished participating in my first swap and I made two (well actually 4) bracelets for mandyc.  I really like the green and teal one and the brown one is actually 3 bracelets that she can mix and match or waer all together.

By the way, my table isn't dirty, I'm just sloppy with varnish from other projects, hehehe Tongue

8  Re: beaded wire bracelets - with tutorial!! in Beads: Completed Projects by craftyLynny on: January 08, 2006 02:27:28 PM

Ok, here's my take on this bracelet.. I love these beads.. they look like candy jewels.  I'm thinking of coming up with a necklace to match.

Ok, I loved the look of this bacelet so I had to try it.  Here is how mine turned out.  I didn't do the ends the same b/c I ran out of wire so I just made something that worked.  It's kinda sloppy, but I like it anyway.

9  Re: How hard is it to learn embroidery? in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by craftyLynny on: December 18, 2005 08:49:30 AM
This was my second embroidery project ever:

It took me an afternoon to do.  I watched a Kill Bill marathon while working on it.
It's not hard, but it can take a long time if you fill everything in.  I started out just working on an outline for my first project, but I decided to fill it all in for my second.
It got my beginner kit from http://www.sublimestitching.com/
I agree with get yourself a hoop.  Be sure to start with a stiffish fabric.  T-shirts are a bit too floppy.  Try something like a pillowcase to start with (or a similar fabric).  The shirt above is a 97% cotton, 3% spandex.  It has the same texture as a pillowcase.
The only thing that's hard for me is deciding which stitch to use!  There are so many neat ones!

I love your finished piece!  I can't believe that is your second project, it looks like you've been embroidering all your life!  Way cool!

10  Spidey Bookmark in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by craftyLynny on: December 15, 2005 10:54:38 PM
Ok, so I used this technique http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=19062.0 to make this Spidey bookmark for a sick friend who's been in the hospital for a while now.  He LOVES Spider-Man!  I just added a sticker that says: Take pride in how far you've come, Have faith in how far you can go. It kinda fits his situation.  Then I used shrinky-dink and sharpies to make Spidey. Hope you like! Sorry about the crummy pics!
