1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Peacock Tail on: March 05, 2008 08:25:03 PM
Hi Hi...

I'm in my first semester as an art major... and this is the first project i've done that i've actually been proud of, so of course i had to show it off. my only regret was that in order to construct it, i hd to install it in my dirty art room. so the pictures aren't great but... you get the idea. enjoy  Wink

2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Ceramics Portfolio (Lots of Pics) on: August 11, 2007 11:14:53 AM
I've been hesitating about posting my work, hoping to find a niche for ceramics around here somewhere. However, the works keeps on piling up around my house with my family as the only appreciative audience. I'm in the process of applying to art school, so here are some snapshots of what will be going into my portfolio. I haven't gotten around to assembling the actual portfolio yet, so please forgive the poor picture quality on some of the pieces.

Here is my leafy fruit bowl-

The Iris Vase I made my mom for Mother's Day

The Bowl that reminds me of a tree stump (note the rings)

I'll put the rest in another post so this post doesn't go on FOREVER

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Valentine Scarf (img heavy) on: November 11, 2005 09:31:42 AM
so i was sitting around my room with absolutely no yarn nor any way to get any any time soon, but i had the fabric i bought on impulse last valentines day when all pink, red, and purple fabrics were 30% off. with a little inspiration from all the entries in the craft challenge #5 (especially olga's hobo scarf), i whipped up this little cutie as a birthday present for a friend of mine.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / white t into... cuter white t on: October 22, 2005 10:22:17 AM
i realize that these pictures are basically terrible, but i'll try to post some better ones once i can find my camera again. crazy how a dinky dorm room can swallow your junk so efficiently. anyways, i had a 6 pack of hanes mens undershirts, and a scarf/belt/headwrap that i never wore, so i combined the two for a cute top. i just cut the neck from shoulder to shoulder into a wide boatneck, with a slight v in the back. then i hand sewed the scarf onto it to make a cute collar/sash or whatever you'd call it.

7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Jackie O. T-Shirt on: October 20, 2005 10:16:53 PM
so, after becoming addicted to this website which i stumbled upon about a week ago, i got inspired to make something, so i had to haul my ass over to Michael's because in my dorm room i have nothing to make stuff with, and not like you need to hear my sob story, but let me just tell you that it included pouring rain, cold weather, and a few hours of mass transit... so, after all that, here are the results.(its jackie kennedy onassis in case you cant tell)
https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/aspurr2/shared/100_0223.JPG?uniq=85rsol
it was my first stencil project, so i was pretty proud of the results. i'd love some feedback, or any suggestions on how to keep the glitter intact (i think i'll give it to my sister for xmas, hopefully there will be a solution the the problem by then?)
