Thanks Crafty Mama!
I am going to check out the tuesday thing here and when I get a little more settled and figure out how to get around better I will try and check out your group too. Thanks for the info. Hope to see you around soon.

I am moving to Duluth on Monday. Are you still doing this knitting group? I would like to find one up there. It is one of the things I will miss about leaving Florida - we have a pretty good knitting group started down here and I want to find a new one. I have no idea about how far things are yet, I have only been up there for a weekend to interview and begin looking for a place to live. Hoping this is going on or you know of one that might be better for me. Have a great weekend and can't wait to be in your neck of the woods.

I just love craftster! Thank you so much for the most helpful advice. I find out tomorrow if I need to begin the process in earnest or not. My fingers are crossed. It is really helpful to know some names to look out for and stuff like that. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope to be seeing you all soon on the streets of Baltimore.

Hello out there in Maryland!

My partner and I are about to move to Baltimore - yeah -(if I get the job, the phone interviews have gone good).

We were wondering if y'all had any good tips for people not at all familiar with the area, ya' know - is there an that is better or worse area to look for housing, where are the best crafting/yarn shops, what are the best music venues, any fun off-the-beaten-path resturants or such,  I guess anything that would be helpful. I have not been to Baltimore yet and my partner has only been there once a few years ago, I am really looking forward to getting up there and scoping things out.

Thanks in advance for any info y'all have.

6  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Beaded Wrist Warmers on: January 20, 2005 02:14:09 PM
I don't know if this pattern call for stringing the beads on before you knit, but if so I'd just see if the little hole is big enough to get on the yarn. If so then they are big enough.

Good luck.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: HELP! Knitty - variation on a frill on: January 18, 2005 11:56:41 AM
I just ordered more yarn to make this one again. I gave away the one that was going to be for my mom and need to make it again. I tried a different yarn than the pattern called for and it came out big and it was my first and so there were mistakes and all that stuff. So long story long I need to make it again. The one for my soon to be mother-in-law came out so beautiful I had to do another for my mom. The yarn should be here in a couple of days and I will do it again. keep us posted on your progress.

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: I thought I knew how to knit but I don't and I am sad. on: January 17, 2005 09:21:20 AM
Hi -

I thought I'd jump right in and let you know that I knitted a few scarves and hats and even my first sweater and then found that I was doing it wrong. I was knitting thru the back for all my knit stitches and then I found that I was purling the wrong was too - so the sweater and scarves and hats all looked like I was knitting the right way since I was twisting both my knits and purls. Happy accident and know I have fixed them both. I felt really silly when I figured it out.

I posted some at yahoo!groups KnitAlong.

in the photos section under elizabeth.

The one there is actually one I did in a green linen yarn and gave to my grandmother. It was my first one and it is very long and I think I didn't do as many rows as the pattern called for. I ended up only using three skeins of the mandrian peteit (sp?) for the ones I did for my mom and MIL. I haven't photographed them yet. I need to -
