1  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: B food suggestions on: August 10, 2008 02:33:46 PM
So wish I had seen the bacon cup entry before the party. Those are awesome and I will be making them in the future. I went with Brie. It was easy. I'd say the most interesting was bacon brownies with bacon ice cream and a balsamic vinaigrette reduction syrup to top it off. Awesome.

Thanks guys! I think I'm going to go with the baked brie suggestion. I love Brie cheese.
3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / B food suggestions on: July 25, 2008 08:17:31 AM
Hi, I'm having a food club gathering with the theme of foods that start with B. I'm having a hard time finding a recipe I want to make.

Do you have a recipe that is awesome and starts with B? I'm kind of looking for an appetizerish dish so it's easy to put on a plate and eat while chatting.

So far people are making Bulgoki (sp?), brownies, bangers and mash and something with bacon.

Thanks

I received from Dichotomy on Saturday, but due to computer issues wasn't able to post pictures. My package was very nice.

It included a cookbook and local magazine - both with some yummy sounding recipes.

The cookbook she made was awesome. I even got real pictures of the dishes... so I know she tried them out and liked them!

I got some tea and the coolest plastic bag holder ever. I'm impressed. If you can't tell, it has the symbols for woman, eternity, and strength.

A long string of yummy gums in various fruity flavors. These little packages are great because they rip off. I've been throwing them in my pocket before work the last couple days.

And, also included was a little bag of greenies cat snacks which the cats attempted to devour. I eventually had to take the bag away so they would leave me alone. Here is what was supposed to be a picture of the cats eating the snacks... but the snacks were gone before the flash even went off.

Thanks so much dichotomy, I love everything. I wish my package had made it to you.  Cry Hopefully the person that has it enjoys it...  Undecided

My package is lost  Cry

I've got the post office searching for it. I'll keep you posted.

This makes me crabby. Especially since they say it's been delivered. Oh well. Hopefully they will find it.
8  UNITED STATES / Michigan / Handmade Detroit event - May 3,4 on: April 17, 2008 07:52:01 PM
Hey, check this out... it sounds kinda neat. I'd be interested in going if anyone wanted to meet somewhere out that way. I'm especially interested in Swap-O-Rama-Rama which is something like 1.bring a bag of unwanted clothes, 2. find someone else's unwanted clothes you'd like, 3. sessions on how to repurpose/modify those clothes and 4. leave with new clothes that are funky, made by you and awesome, I assume.

Also, here's a link to the swap-o-rama-rama people.

And, I'm not affiliated with the event or groups involved, I honestly think it sounds worth checking out.

According to the tracking stuff, I'll receive tomorrow! The suspense is killing me!

That's strange. According to mine, you received on the 15th? Weird.

Either way, I hope it gets there sometime and I hope you like it all. The cookbook that's already posted in the gallery is of much higher quality, so I hope you are okay with what I made.

*Gasp!* I may be first to receive!

I sent. You might very well be the first to receive.
