1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: itchy vintage fabric??????? on: September 18, 2006 11:43:06 AM
most things made out of suit pants are lined with a thin satiny type material, Im unsure of the name of it, but its the thinner lesser quality looking stuff.

Sometimes its just lined to the knee, and sometimes to the bottom hem of the pants, To stop it from moving around you would sew it into the hem.

Im not sure about any treatments to make it less itchy, the only thing i could suggest is washing it in fabric softener...... but that may not do anything.
2  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: 9/17/06 - Holy PORN! Batman! on: September 18, 2006 05:06:47 AM
I think it was a real person.  Whatever sick thrill someone gets out of putting stuff like this in a place patently inappropriate for it... well, a bot wouldn't get that thrill.

And Elven... anywhere else, your avatar wouldn't strike me this way, but in a thread about how awful porn spam is... it's making me giggle.   Grin

hehehe yeah, I just realised that then..... LOL kinda not cool in a cool way.....

Maybe the thing woudl deter them? Make it appear more how it really is... like, the mods jump on this really really fast?

IDK, i think thats a good idea, about the words that flag a post, and makes it have to be approved first, but, they will make their way around it somehow I guess.... by using other characters that look like a letter........ as an example  ( = c
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: 1 Sk. Manos on: September 17, 2006 11:48:02 PM
I dont know about you guys.... and I cant knit.... But, I love uber skinny scarves.... I started making one, that was i think 6 or so stitches wide.... but because I was new to knitting I kept accidently increasing and decreasing so it look a bit strange and I gave up....

But, i think it would look good Smiley

I'm not too sure if this is effective or not in this case. But is there anyway of perhaps adding, like alot of forums do, the box where you have to copy text from a picture into the box correctly to sign up?

I think it would only work if they were bots and not real people. You would hope that it wasnt a real person though....

Just my $0.02
5  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: 9/7/06 - More Changes Related to Upgrade on: September 08, 2006 01:40:42 AM
I love the new changes too! that is, I still miss the 'new' button thing in bookmarks... but,

with the recent posts with pictures "glitch" I had the same thing happen to me before the renovations.... I kinda figured that it was only showing the recent posts that take up those pages... which had pics, so say, page three had only text replies... page three, when you clicked on page three, would show up as "empty".....

Well, Im not 100% sure if thats why, but thats what I thought about it.. hehe

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Steve Irwin on: September 05, 2006 08:42:02 PM
yeah that's so sad. I didnt even realize Stingray's were deadly to humans, I just thought they could hurt you and that's it.

They can kill.... Their barbs contain toxins that are released when it punctures the skin, not many people actually die from this, because most "stings" occur on lower extremities from people stepping on them or the like.

Also, the "barb" punctured his chest, and heart (some sites also say lung) and brought on cardia arrest.

http://www.rangelmd.com/2006/09/death-by-stingray.htm    Has alot of info, and a good article relating to Steve.

It was a terrible freak accident, and he will be missed. He wasnt just a Wildlife Warrior, he was a brilliant guy, so down to earth and a what you see is what you get kinda guy.

I think this is a brilliant idea. (I am Australian) and his family would appreciate it immensly
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: In Memorandum of Steve Erwin...Croc Hunter on: September 05, 2006 08:22:45 PM
This is so sweet! especially the sentiment behind it... Im sure his family would appreciate it.

I am an Australian, and I feel slightly un-Australian because of this.... I am very upset by it, but more so in empathy for his children and wife. I admire, and appriciate you wearing this. Im sure his family would be touched, and he would be proud!

on another, slightly smaller and not really consequential not.... Its a small pet peeve of mine, It is actually Irwin, not Erwin.... (I hope I didnt sound like a bitch then.... *blush*)
