1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / 1 week left and limited funds.. HELP! on: June 10, 2009 08:04:31 PM
My bf and I have been together 1 year on the 21..

For my 21 bday he was so awesome.. Took me to universal studios, and then surprised me with dinner @ medieval times and had them shout me out and knight me and all that good stuff.. For his bday we were kinda in a rough patch so nothig happened.. so for our 1 year i wanna do something extra nice for him! BUT i duno what?!

I think he is planing something for me cuz i know him and thats what he does.. I just have no clue what to do for him. I was gonna buy him house on dvd but since we got a dvr, he records every episode and they are giving reruns.. so now im stuck... someone give me ideas!!

oh btw.. I live with him but I can work outside of home in my grandmas house if I need to be crafty.. thanks!

ok this works if u are in central florida only i guess but its still really nice..

Ok Disneys Polynesian resort is amazingly romantic at night with its hawaiian theme.. And you dont have to be a guest to visit it.. At the security gate just tell them you want to look around or you are shopping or dining and they will let you pass.. sometimes they give you a 45 minute parking paper.. usually they dont though. Once you are in take a walk.. not IN the resort but go out the back exit by the pool (change in the outside bathroom and take a dip if u want.. ) OR my personal favorite.. Sit at the beach (man made) where you have a view of the castle and if you are there at the right time, you can see the fireworks from the beach! I work for disney and have done this so many times! I love it..

Another fun thing and this is how I spent my christmas.. after spending time doing a ton of fun things with the bf, at like 8pm we decided we would drive to the beach. And we did. It was completely dark out there which is scary at first to hear the ocean so loud and clear but hardly be able to see it.. But soon your eyes adjust and its just you, your special person and a million stars over your head! It is absolutely amazing we saw every constellation pretty much and a couple of shooting stars..

The beach on Christmas day can only happen in florida I guess lol! It was just kind of cold.. not FREEZING Wink

its so funny that this is up on the home page now.. I was tryng to come up with ideas on how i could do m own version of the painting as a picture.. i mean photograph something like that for a project i am workin on this year..

anyways after googling pictures of the painting i came here curious to see if anyone had ever crafted something from the painting.. and there was your clock!

I absolutely love it!!!  I want one for my room!!

Awesome Job!!!

I dont think she was scared of it because she didnt have a mate.. I think if it were real her maternal instincts would have kicked in naturally. She only got scared because it was a new and strange "thing" in her cage/near her. Birds do that.. I have 7 'tiels some of which are the result of mating..  I dont think what you did was mean though. She reacted the way my birds react when I put a new toy in their cage..

Great job on the sculpting by the way.. VERY realistic!
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Christmas Stocking Stuffer Idea Thread!!! on: December 11, 2008 08:25:13 AM
you know.. I dont know if this was posted or not already as I only read one page..but that 1 page inspired me lol!

Someone mentioned something about a memory stick for that geek in ur life...

Well what about making it a memory stick...filled with memories??

And I like the surprise ball idea too.. What I would do is fill the memory stick with pictures, songs, letters/blogs(i write ALOT).. And then put it in the ball and wrap it.. and maybe as part of the charm and the other things that get wrapped up in there id put movie tickets or little goodies that would also serve as memories too... I love it!

Sorry if this idea was already posted!!!

9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Starburst Mario! on: December 11, 2008 07:30:23 AM
yeah glue gun to stick them together. You have to make sure that all of them are lined up the same way because they are not perfect squares. I dont know if its because my glue gun isnt the hottest one or w/e but glue gun doesnt seem to work well for me. The pieces stick together but since i made it in chunks and then stuck the chunks together, those same chunks sometimes want to fall apart. Its annoying.. I think it will be better to not only stick them together but to stick them to a backing. Thats why im excited for doing the giant version on the poster board with soon!!!

ps. I was excited to see my mario on the "hot new topics" thingy on the home page!! yay!

haha thanks everyone!

So my friend who gave me the bag of pink starbursts and inspired me to make this mario has been inspired by my final product...so much so that now we are working on a full screen shot of the game on a big project board. Ill put the pics when its done. So far we have the materials, might just need more candy (theres like 3847893482378923 already) and we are planning it out on graph paper =) its exciting!
