1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Dollar Tree might have yarn on: April 10, 2006 11:56:22 AM
Wow..I need to get to the dollar tree!  I was just at the Everything 99 cents store this last weekend and they had yarn also.  Not a selection though..it was white Jiffy yarn and a baby yarn..the kind with the shiny strip in it.   Unfortunately I didn't have much money on me cause I had come to pick up just a couple things I needed.  I may have to go back.  That's the perfect yarn for making light airy spring pullovers for wearing over a tank.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Tote bag lining on: April 01, 2006 06:58:06 PM
Ok well I just felted/fulled my first tote bag and would like to line it.  I'm not really great at sewing so I was wondering how do I go about this?  Is there a basic pattern I can adapt to my bag?  Do I hand sew or machine sew?

Any suggestions and/or links would be appreciated.  This is going to be a birthday gift for my little sister.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Size of tote to felt? on: March 18, 2006 07:10:35 PM
Didn't exactly know what section to put this in crochet or felting/fulling.  I haven't seen many crochet patterns for bags to be felted.  This is my very first time felting and I would like to know what size should I make a tote in order for it to come out a decent size.  The few patterns I've seen I don't believe have given a measurement and I am basically just making a striped one in 5 different colors.

Help Undecided  Anyone Huh

Patons Divine.  I love the way it looks but it's very hard to work with.
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: How do I learn to felt?? on: March 09, 2006 12:02:04 PM
I know this thread is pretty old but who knows maybe this will help someone.  I haven't felted yet but I keep seeing pictures of bags and hats people have been making and I really want to try this out.  I searched the net and this is the website I came up with on felting.  I'm not sure if it's on this website but it also mentions some brand name wool yarn that felts nicely.  I've heard Iceland wool yarn is really good.  I don't know how much these run.

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Care Bears Crochet Book on: February 25, 2006 12:46:40 PM
I got this book about a year ago at Hancock Fabrics and haven't made one yet.  My daughter loves Care Bears and basically wants me to make every single one.  I just haven't bought the yarn and thread to make them yet or I'd probably be crocheting bears like crazy.

I saw the picture I was thinking more along the lines of band uniform *L*  but I still think it's cute.  I mean if gwen can wear a band uni and look hot why not the rest of us? *L*
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Free ball of Bernat Disco yarn!!! on: December 05, 2005 10:14:17 AM
I got this bernat free disco yarn.  Mine came in a brown..the color is called Mr. Brown.  I actually like brown so I'm not so disappointed.  Have to buy more to actually make something though.

Ok now these may be a stupid question, but I honestly don't know.  Can you use any kind of pinecone?  What I mean is I found some by my house, but they are not opened..is that alright to use or should they be open?
