Details of swap:
Welcome to the Givers and Needers swap! This is round 13!

Is your stash invading your craft space, over flowing your drawers, and pouring out of the closets? If so, this swap is for you!

OR

Do you need supplies to be able to try new crafts, complete those pinterest projects, or refill your empty craft room? If so, this swap is for you too!

WELCOME GIVERS!

If you have an overabundance of craft supplies and are feeling the need to purge, here are the details you need to read!

Givers will send a box of craft supplies to a needer so they can continue their love for crafting.
In return, you will receive a small crafted item as a "thank you" made with love from your needer.
The giver can choose the size and amount of supplies they send, just make sure to send enough to help the needer without breaking your budget. Send something you'd be happy to receive.

This is a great way to destash and help a fellow crafter who may for various reasons need some supply help.

WELCOME NEEDERS!

If you have more cobwebs than craft supplies in your closets, here are the details you need to read!

Needers will receive a box of supplies from a very generous giver.  In return, you will send a thank you gift that is the equivalent of a small. The thank you gift does not need to be crafted from the supplies the giver sends. The minimum is a small, but feel free to spoil your giver!

At this time, I prefer to only take applications for Givers OR Needers (no signups for both groups,
until I see just how involved the matching is going to be!  I may put out a call if I have room for
more of one than the other, so stay tuned  Smiley )

Other IMPORTANT Info:

^Please put G&N 13 in all PM subjects.
^Please mark all PM's with Approval, Sent, Received
^I reserve the right to refuse ANYONE based on late sending, history of incomplete packages, etc, etc.
^You must have swapped at least once before to join this swap as a needer.

Should your needs be something that no givers are offering, you may be contacted about changing your questionnaire.
Should you be offering something that no needers need, you will contacted to change your questionnaire.

Please be sure to take pictures and post items that you receive. If you do not have a camera, please PM your partner and ask them to take pics for you!
DC# are needed for ALL packages! If you are sending from or to someone outside of the USA please keep your receipt. I will need a copy of it once you send!

Please go through your stash or your needs well before filling out the questionnaire, this way, you know exactly what you have to give and what it is you need, itll be a great help when partnering time comes.

No one likes to be flaked on, so please only sign up if you can complete this swap.
Communication is important! You must communicate once a week; and don't forget to post in the thread before sending your signup form (per Craftster rules).

2  July 2015 Ongoing Pinterest Swap in ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED by kayrun on: July 02, 2015 01:32:26 PM

Swap name:  July 2015 Ongoing Pinterest Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap:  kayrun
Co-organizer:  rscowtown
Sign-up date range:  July 2nd through 31st (2015)
Date to send item by:  2 weeks after claim

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional):  No

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? No

Additional Age requirement? No

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: affirmed
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES
- Is at least 18 years old: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: correct
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 16 years old: YES
- If within the US, understands that Delivery Confirmation number is required for this swap: YES
- If outside the US, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap: YES

Details of swap:
This is a Pinterest swap, meaning that your fellow Craftsters will claim you for something you have pinned on your Pinterest site.  If you don't have a Pinterest but are interested, go here www.pinterest.com to request one.  We recommend having at least 50 pins before you start a Pinterest Swap (so that others can get an idea of your likes & style wants)

(strikethrough doesn't apply to this round, since it's been a year since last round)
If you are late in a previous Pinterest swap, please do not sign up until you send. You will not be accepted. If you still have outstanding claims in any previous round, however, you can still join as long as you are not already late in sending. Also, these swaps are totally independent of each other so if you have maxed out your unreceived but not late claims in last month's swap, you can still make that number this month. Also, the swap organizer reserves the right to refuse participation to those C-sters that she does not feel can meet the requirements or that do not jive well with the group.

Also please note that this swap requires that you communicate with your partner and the organizer (+ co-organizer).  Please send a PM (including the month of the swap) when you claim, when you send, and when you receive.  People who consistently fail to communicate will be asked to take a break from the Pinterest swap and maybe try again in two months.
** for the July 2015 round, PLEASE be sure to include both kayrun & rscowtown on all communication

Please do not post in this thread until you have been approved by the organizer. This thread is for lists only. Only post once. If you need to change/add something, simply "Modify" your post. The discussion/gallery thread is located here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=439845.0

FAQ: Please READ

How does this swap work?
You may choose from anyone's Pinterest board once they have posted a link and bio in this thread.  This is not a chain list swap; its more of a free for all swap.  However, when possible it is nice to claim from those who haven't been claimed or who have claimed more than they have been claimed for. You have two weeks from the date you claim to send your item on its way to the lucky recipient.  Remember to PM the organizer ( & co-organizer) and the recipient when you claim, send, and receive.
Please include the swap name and month in your subject line! Please make sure to include who you are claiming, sending to, or receiving from. You may have up to 2 outstanding (not received) claims. If you are FOC you may have up to 3 outstanding claims.  Everyone MUST make at least one claim.

What should my bio and link look like?

Once you have been approved, you may post in the list thread.  There is no one way to do this but please be sure your bio includes the following:
         - your location and a brief bio (include allergies in red please)
         - your Pinterest link
         - list of boards that are to be used for this swap, or simply say something like "all my boards are game"
         - whether you are okay with supply claims
if you'd like to see a sample, please check a previous round:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=434910.0

What do I need to send?

This swap is for either one medium or 2-3 small items for each claim.  A medium item is one that takes 2 or more hours, $10 - $30, some examples are a single necklace or bracelet or a scarf.  A small item is one that takes 2 or less hours, $10 or less, some examples are earrings/wallets/pouches/bookmarks.

How do the organizers ensure that claims are even?
We don't. But we do try.  One way is that we highlight your name when you have claimed more times than you have been claimed.  We ask that people claim from those that haven't been claimed yet or who have claimed more often than they have been claimed, but there is no guarantee that if you send 5 times that you will receive 5 items.  In fact, theoretically it is quite possible to not get claimed at all.  If this is a major concern for you and you know you would miserable if things were not always even, this may not be the swap for you.  However, I will say that for the most part this is not a big problem in this swap so far.

How closely does the item I send need to resemble the item pinned?
It depends on who you are claiming.  Read the bios carefully.  Read the pins carefully.  Some of us pin items for inspiration and are fine with items that are simply inspired by our pins. Others would like the item to look as close to the pin as possible.

What happens if I am flaked on?
If you are flaked on, you will only receive an angel for as many packages as you have sent.  If you were claimed for 3 packages and you sent 2 packages and one package was flaked on - you will not receive a swap angel.

What do I do if I'm not being claimed?
If you are not being claimed, it might be time to consider your pins.  Do you have enough variety?  Are there enough small and medium items?  Do you have items pinned that require a variety of crafty mediums (ex: knitting, crocheting, sewing, beading, embroidery, etc...)?  Are your pins realistically craftable?  You should shoot for at least 20-30 pins (this includes only those pins you want to be claimed); maybe more if most of your items are on the large side or primarily in one crafty medium.  We have some talented folks on here... but not everyone can do all crafts.  If you find you aren't being claimed...try adding more pins. Annchen posted a great reply about this in the December swap that I highly encourage reading if you are not being claimed.

I hear a rumor that there is a giveaway; is this true?
YES!  It is true.  Each month, there is a giveaway.  You get one entry into the random drawing for each claim you make.  At the end of the month, we'll use a random number generator and that lucky person will receive a crafted item or crafty supply.  We cannot tell you what the item might be upfront because we like to cater it to the winner's interests and needs.  Also randomly but not necessarily every month, there might be additional giveaways so make sure to stay up to date on the discussion thread so you don't miss out!

my pkg arrived!!!

Whistley did a wonderful job of spoiling me   Grin

everything was wrapped in my favorite design (chevrons)

and then, she did my favorite trick of including CANDY for each letter, with a cute
tag attached that explained all of the items she crafted!!

so I got Kit Kat + Almond Joy + Reese's PB Egg + Eggs (bubble gum) + a Nest (coconut)

and on to the surprises!!
letter K = a lovely Knot Bag, which will be great for my knitting projects
(love this fabric)

letter A = Avian stitch markers (adorable, and I love this type!)

letter R = a Rug for my mug (adorable fabric, and check out the stitching on it!  impressive!!
definitely a labor of love~)

letter E = Embroidered minion hoop  (cannot tell you how much this made me smile  Smiley

and letter N = Needlebook with balloon from UP on it (another favorite movie!!) & now that
I'm doing more hooplas, I need this to keep track of my needles!

I cannot thank you enough, Emily -- a huge amt of work went into this pkg & is MUCH appreciated!!
I hope others can get a small sense of this pkg from my pics -- enjoy!!

VERY IMPORTANT. . . Please read before signing up:
Because this is a small swap with a short crafting period (a little less than 2 weeks) it is very important that you are positive you can commit to the cost and time for this swap before you join.  No one wants to be flaked on, especially on Valentines Day!  Also, since this is a small swap, make sure you can craft the loveliest, sweetest valentine package to the best of your abilities, in the amount of time given.  If you arent willing to do this, please do not sign up.

Now, for the nitty-gritty details:

** This swap has 3 parts:
a small (1 point) crafted item......since we have a short crafting time this round, make at least 1 small to medium-ish item for your Craftster Valentine, and spoiling is encouraged if you have the time!
For more info on how to evaluate points, please visit http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=229624.msg3712343#msg3712343

PLUS
** You will craft a handmade Valentine. . . it can be crafted from whatever medium you choose (paper, felt, fabric, clay, etc.)

PLUS
** You will also send some treats/sweets for your Valentine.

Additional requirements:

**DC#s are required for US swappers.
**PM both your partner AND organizer (thats me!) when you send AND when you receive.
**I highly recommend photographing your swap package before you send, just in case your partner cant post photos in the gallery.
**Post photos of your goodies in the gallery when you receive them from your partner.  I try to give speedy feedback once swap requirements are met, so the sooner you post, the sooner I give feedback!
**I would like for everyone to post in the thread at least once a week so I know you are alive, kicking, and crafting.  This constitutes good communication and makes the swaps more fun for everyone!
**First time swappers that meet Craftster swap requirements are welcome!
