This might be more of a yarn question than a question about the top but, here goes:
i really wanna make the Cupcake top, its adorable!
The pattern calls for "DK weight", and i'm kinda on a tight budget, so i'm looking to use Bernat HandiCrafter Cotton (I have two of the 14 oz skeins). The Bernat looks identical to Sugar n Cream, and looks/feels almost as thick, and it is listed on the label as Worsted Weight.
I wanted to know what the size difference between DK weight and Worsted Weight cotton is?
Do i need to do anything different with the pattern? I need to make the top slightly bigger than the directions anyhow (big bust).
Has anyone tried this top yet, and did you use the same yarn as what the patterned called for, or did you try something different too?
I have some alpaca yarn that i would love to try and felt, but i don't want to ruin it if it can't be felted. It's 100% baby alpaca yarn, and super bulky, if that makes a difference. I crocheted a bear out of it, and i thought it might be a great idea if the thing was felted.
Is wool the only thing that can felt, or can other animal hairs (angora, mohair, alpaca) be felted?
Also, if something has been felted once, can it be felted "tighter" or felted a second time to make it more shrunken?
This was a present i made for my little stepsister.
I used Moda Dea's Metro in a lime and an aqua color for this scarf. I'm new to crochet, and i don't know how to do stripes, so i unraveled two skeins of the green and one of the blue and just randomly tied the blue to the green at random chaotic intervals.
Its hard to see in the pictures, but i just looks like crazy interruptions of blue in between the lime.
I actually finished a crochet project, i'm super proud of myself. I used the sock pattern on the Crochet Me website, but i made the sock with a cuff too keep ankles warm.
Okay, i keep trying to post my image here but it won't show....i don't get it.
Does anyone here have a website that you sell handmade cards or custom printed cards? I"m interested in finding something cool for valentines day, and wouldn't mind supporting a fellow craftser this valentines.
I usually make my own birthday cards, but i always end up buying a store brand card for Valentines. I wouldn't mind getting something handmade for my sweetie this year.
Thanks for any suggestions, links, or recommendations,
Hi! I found a pattern for a hackey sack, and i really wanna make one for my friend (He's such a hippie) but i don't know where to get the stuff you put inside the hackey sack? What are those beads called? Where can i get them? Is there any place online i could get them?
Also, do you have to use embrodiery floss to make them? Has anyone made them with regular yarn, or have some suggestions on what to make them with?
Also, i welcome anyone that might have a different or neato pattern for them, just provide the link.
How much would you charge to knit a sweater? How much would you charge to do a sweater if someone provided the yarn?
I don't know how to knit, but i am learning to crochet. I would like to know a ballpark figure before i go askiing if someone can knit me a sweater.
I know i can learn (i know people are going to suggest it) but if it takes me as long as it took to learn crocheting, its gonna be a long time before i learn can make sweater myself.
I tried to ask this question on knitty.com's forum, and i got flamed so bad that one of the admins offered to take the post down and ban some users. So please be courteous and let me know what i could expect if i wanted to pay someone to make me a sweater.
