1  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / One Angel needed for the Librarian Love Swap - Angel found on: June 25, 2006 10:09:56 AM
Hi there!

One of the participants of this swap was flaked on and now we need an angel.  I was originially just going to take care of it myself, but we had a death in the family late in May and things are still not normal.  Can anyone help?

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Office Job/Corporate Day Job Swap? on: March 15, 2006 06:56:13 PM
I know I can't be the only craftster type who has a corporate day job to finance my crafty ambitions at night.  Smiley  Who would be interested in an office job/corporate day job themed swap?  I'm thinking things like cool pen holders, cool pens and pencils, cubicle-friendly ephemera, a nifty tote bag to haul your stuff (or your lunch) to work in, notepads, a cup/mug cozy to keep the caffination warm.  I'm sure there are loads of other ideas, too.

Who would be interested???

We had an odd number of participants.  So no one would be left out, I've taken on two.  I was brought up by the creed that when you're in charge, you make sure everyone is covered even at your own expense.  I hope no one feels like I'm getting extra, I just didn't want anyone to be left out or anyone else to have to do two, though I appreciate the volunteers who PMed me offering.  I just finished my thesis and could use the extra crafting as relaxation.  Smiley

6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / How do you keep records? on: January 04, 2006 12:10:25 PM
How do you all keep records of what you buy, sell, make, etc?  If you have a nifty system, photos would be great!
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Cordie Slouchy Bag (aka, The Saturday) on: October 28, 2005 08:40:49 PM
I bought some damaged cordie remnant tonight at the store and had some pink sateen leftover from a dress.  I needed a "fall' purse I could just put my keys, money, cellie in for coffee on Saturday so this is what happened:

There is an inside pocket in the same cordie fabric.  I sew everything in white, it's my thing.  Itr's by no means a "perfect" bag, but I deliberately wanted something kind of slouchy.  Way cuter than the stuff at Old Navy.
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Thanksgiving / Simple Thanksgiving party craft ideas....HELP! on: October 27, 2005 12:04:44 PM
I need you lovely crafters' help!

I do the monthly newsletter for my office and each month I try to introduce something crafty or something foody by posting instructions and asking for submissions of pictures of their finished product.  This next newsletter is the Thanksgiving issue...and I need ideas.

Any suggestions?Huh
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / "Patchwork" Casual Friday Bag on: October 26, 2005 11:33:01 PM
After finishing a bag for a customer, I had some of the fabric leftover.  I really liked it, but it wasn't enough for a regular bag.  I also had some felted wool a friend made for me for my birthday, some leftover blue fabric (which you can't really see in this pic) and some brown ribbon.  It's not sturdy enough for hardcore use, but it's perfect for casual Friday (hence the name).  Enjoy!

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Demonstration/mock-up handbags on: October 19, 2005 05:30:33 PM
Hello!

About two years ago I started sewing my own bags, just general square-bottom bags and the like and used them for travel, grocery shopping, etc.  One day a few months ago, I carried one to work and now I've got orders like crazy for them.  Yay.  I've also found myself inspired by my customers to make different designs and styles of bags.  After three failed bags, I've found myself making mock-up bags out of Kleenex before actually working with real fabric to see if the idea works.

Does anyone else do this?  Do you do something similar?
