1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Baby Booties on: September 12, 2006 09:09:59 PM
I made my son a pair of denim booties with a suede sole for some traction when he figures out that those legs of his can be used for walking.  To decorate, I simply put a little froggy button sewn on super tight so he can't swallow.

I forgot to mention that they're kind of dirty because he's been wearing them.  He and his brother have discovered that if you mix water with dirt you get this really fun substance called MUD!!!

I made a birthday present for my sister in law and realized that it fell into this challenge so I thought I'd post it...

I started out with a desire to try my hand at stenciling.  I loved how the stencil came out and will be doing a lot more of this in the future.  I couldn't believe how easy it was!  So then I put the stencilled piece on this really pretty black satin with butterflies and added some beads sewn onto the stencil panel.  When I was done with that, I realized that it didn't look very good on that fabric so I pulled out some old jeans and made the bag out of it.  There is a really cool teal colored lining and the original fabric for the handle.  Anyway, I can't talk it up, I honestly think it could have looked a lot better, but oh well.  I'm a perfectionist who is never happy with my finished product.
