I just love the necklace!  I'm a scientist, and I love that that necklace is full of organic chemistry structures!  Very cool!

I love the lamps - great job!  I've tried a few peek-a-boo lampshade designs before, but I was always disappointed.  Yours turned out great!

Great job!  I've been thinking for a while about wanting to make an earring holder, and your project gave me an idea.  I'm going to try stretching something (maybe cross-stitch fabric or gauzy material with random ribbons and lace or something) through a cross-stitch hoop so it will stretch tight.

Those are great!  How did you do the artwork on the movie-star pictures?

That is really beautiful.  That could make even the coldest and rainiest autumn day feel crisp and happy.

I love these... very nice.  I really like the subtle color changes from sequin to sequin.  Great job!
7  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Make your own baby food (image heavy) on: July 05, 2006 12:32:31 PM
My sister made all of her baby's foods using the "Super Baby Food" book by Ruth Yaron as her guide, and she SWEARS by the book.  The book explains how to make different foods as well as when it's okay to introduce different foods (for allergy reasons and the like) and how much food babies eat at different stages as they develop.  I helped my sister make the food once, and it was amazingly simple and didn't take much time; the book explains how to microwave everything to heat it safely.  I intend to do this someday when I have kids too, and I'm really glad you posted this to let people know how reasonable it really is.
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Ideas for a nice veil. on: July 03, 2006 02:21:08 PM
I recently made a veil for my friend's wedding (no pictures yet, sorry).  I generally followed the instructions at http://www.wegotgame.net/jen/veils.html, except that I wound a folded-up strip of tulle around the comb to give me something to attach the veil to (and to cover the top of the comb).  On the bottom ~3 inches of [the top layer of] the veil, I glued a mixture of seed pearls, small rhinestones, and clear swarovski crystals; her dress had those decorations scattered about on the bodice.  Anyway,  I glued the decorations farther apart (maybe 1-1/2 inches) at the top of that 3-inch band and more closely toward the bottom (maybe 1/3 inch apart at the bottom) - she helped me design the pattern.  I just cut the tulle, and didn't hem it.  It was easy to do, and made a beautiful veil that matched her dress really well without detracting from it.  She and I got huge compliments on the veil - nobody guessed it was handmade for less than $20.

That is a fantastic idea, and I never would have guessed the pictures had been photoshopped!  Great job!

Thanks!  The arm bands are a great idea, and I bet it was great as a short cape too!
