111  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Origami shoes on: August 13, 2006 05:19:56 PM
will that make them too hard to walk in, though? If not, I'll definitely do it. I've already worn them a couple times, and so far so good.

Right now I'm working on covering a pair of white flats with Archie comics Smiley

wow, very oriental! tiny scraps of paper? it looked like one big fabric. Good job! Won't it peel off? How many layers of mod podge did you use? Thanks.

It was 5 layers each shoe Smiley

Oh my gawd! I LOVE it! Not only is the shoe amazing but what you did to them is even better! How long did that take you and how much of your sanity did you lose?

haha well I started them probably 4 months ago. But I finished the first shoe within the first few weeks (for drying time in between layers). By then I was burned out on modpodge and anything to do with the shoe. So only last week I sat down every night and worked on the 2nd shoe. Finished it a lot faster. But I do like the first shoe better...I like the placement of the paper. They are not exactly alike

as far as my sanity..I lost that long ago! haha
114  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Sympathy gift? on: August 07, 2006 11:48:37 AM
Huh my co-worker's dad recently passed away and I wanted to make him something. I was thinking of some sort of memorial but I don't have pics. They are 100% Irish (born in Ireland) so I kinda wanted to do something with gaelic poetry or design. I just don't want it to be too much about loss..more about celebrating his life.

ugh. any ideas??

that is the coolest! i'm stealing that idea! i got 1000 pegs from ebay and am ready to go. i just wonder if it has to be one of those metal shades, or would it work on a regular fabric lampshade?
