i bought some self striping yarn today (3 skeins). i am planning on making a pair of irish hiking wrist warmers. my question is how do i get the wrist warmers to have the same stripes? do i have to roll the yarns into balls together and cut them off so they start and end with the same colors?

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / teaching myself to crochet on: June 07, 2006 07:33:03 PM
hi guys. i am a long time knitter and i have been wanting to learn to crochet for a few years. i have tried to learn a few times unsucessfully. tonight i decided i am going to teach myself to crochet! i bought happy hooker (i am a big fan of the knitting versions) and went for it. an hour later i am very frustrated. i am still working on learning the single crochet. i think i have the chain stitch down, but they tell you to stick the hook through both strands of the 'v's' the only problem is that i cant see the v's, mine does not look like the picture in the book, mine has like 3 strands of yarn when theirs has only 2. does anyone know what i am doing wrong? is their a website with video clips of someone crocheting, like knittinghelp.com? i really want to learn to crochet, but i think i may never be able to learn. please help!!!!!!
