1  origami bead- how to? in Beads: Discussion and Questions by tinkertoy on: April 17, 2006 02:12:31 PM
Hi.  Does anyone know how to make something like this?

I really want to be able to make something similar out of paper, ribbon, etc.
They seem to be made out of a folded long strip- similar to the way people fold up paper stars.  I know people make all kinds of other stuff folding up a long thin strip like that.  On trips I've seen people making fish and grasshoppers, flowers... for tourists out of long blades of grass.  Does anyone know if there is a name for this (folding up a strip instead of a square like origami)?   I'm having no luck in my searches.
Thanks!

2  Re: Jewellery/Beading Craftalong (3rd tute - pg 24. DOUBLE DIAMOND STITCH) in Craftalongs by tinkertoy on: April 09, 2006 05:55:08 PM
Can I join in a little late in the game here?  I'm kind-of new to craftster and I just saw this recently.  The craft-along seems like fun...  I made this double-diamond stitch necklace over a year ago- I found a tutorial elsewhere online.  It is a choker- with a short stretch of just the single diamond in back.  The beads are adventurine and brown seed beads. It was actuallly one of my first beading projects and since then I've been REALLY addicted ever since.
