thanks everyone for the comments and tips!!
i washed it. first i heat set it the iron then sprayed it with scotch guard then washed it the washer. (before the last two posts) for the most part its fine. the bigger areas faded just a tiny bit, and the red "hugs not drugs" on the sleeve bled a little, but it was already a little smeared, i think from rubbing since its on the front side of the sleeve. ill get some detailed pictures soon. Smiley

Did you get any of your friends to sign it?? Cheesy
no i didn't, i just moved not to long ago so all my friends are far away Sad but its not too bad because, no friends + no job + no school = lots of time to craft = this shirt Smiley

That's awesome! Can you still wash it without the sharpie fading?
i haven't tried wasing it yet, im kinda scared to.

how do you plan on washing it so the colors don't bleed?
i dont have a plan! Undecided anyone have any great ideas??

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / skirt from a 30 year old coat :) on: August 18, 2007 01:49:38 PM
when we moved two years ago i found this liner from a long coat my mom had when my 30 year old brother was a baby. my mom saw it and said "eww we still have that?? throw it away!" but i didnt, i made this skirt instead! no before pic but it was about knee length, the body part was the plaid and the arm were the pink satin-y stuff. basicaly i just cut off the top part and the zipper, sewed up the front and made it the back and added a waist band from the sleeves. i didnt feel like doing a zipper or buttons so its kinda hard to get on and off, but i like it. the plaid is like a really wooly flannel so its really warm (duh it was a coat) for a skirt, i cant wait to wear it this winter when its freezing outside.
