1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / He who sleeps under the sea... in adorable semi-amigurumi no-pattern form? on: December 18, 2006 03:08:22 PM

Alright, honestly I've never even SEEN an H.P. Lovecraft book. But my friend adores them, sooo I made her a kinda-sorta-amigurumi-but-not-really Cthulhu, modeled after the existing plushies, but other then that, I had nooo idea what I was doing and just made it up as I went along. I like how it turned out, but his feet are just bizarre.
2  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Perfumed body powder with handpainted box on: December 18, 2006 02:38:02 PM

Christmas gift for a friend! The powder is equal amounts rice flour and corn starch, with some glitter and, you guessed it, Burberry Brit perfume. However strong you want it. It's lovely, I almost want to keep it! Painting the box took foreeeever... So much tape, so many lines, having to mix the tan color... arrrgh.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Gloomy Bear Knifty Knitter Hat and Scarf/gloves! on: December 18, 2006 02:31:45 PM
This was a christmas present for my friend! Both things made on the KK loom, with felt added on. Gloomy Bear is normally pink and white, of course, but my friend's favorite colors and black and green, sooo...

I had never done anything like this before, I had no plan or pattern or anything and just made it up as I went a long. I feel kinda bad sending it to my friend since it has a lot of mistakes and, um, hot glue strings, I think it's more like a protoype instead of a nice finished gift. But I ran out of time and yarn... I wanna make a better, normal-colored one for myself, but I wish I had taken detail pics of this one before I sent it off!

The scarf has built-in gloves/claws. Nice and warm.
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Lucy, my sorta-Amigurumi Dammit Doll and first project! on: January 18, 2006 04:19:07 PM
Hooray, first post! I've been a member since October, but i'm a terrible lurker and haven't even replied to anything. Well, last week I was lurking, as always, and came across the Dammit Doll poem! You know,

"Whenever things don't go so well...
And you want to hit the wall and yell...
Here's a little dammit doll
That you can't do without.
Just grasp it firmly by the legs
And find a place to slam it
And as you whack the stuffing out
Yell, "DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT!""

So I decided to make one of my own, because I feel the need to beat the stuffing out of things often. Cheesy

And here she is, I named her Lucy. My first crochet project! As I am a complete beginner, she was made ENTIRELY in slip stitch.  Lips sealed I thought it was single crochet until I actually looked it up... oh well.

What do you think~?
