Everyone's bags look great! Here's the Covington bag I just made. It was my very first completed sewing project so if you look too closely you'll see the shoddy sewing work... but I still like it!
I really want to make the Weekend Traveler bag next but I'm afraid it may just be a little too ambitious this early in my sewing career.

Thanks for all the nice words.
I was a little concerned about the whole 'fire' factor too but I've been using a pretty small lamp with a fairly low-watt bulb and haven't had any problems. I think that because it's so big, enough air can get in there to kinda cool it down.
I've definitely got to hit-up the dollar store for some moe lights, Imy next one is going to be in white.

I drew the pattern freehand on the back of the paper and then I cut out the design with an Xacto knife. Just remember not to go too crazy with the design, you need some paper left for stability. I highly reccomend the xacto's with the rubber grip, I got crazy callouses on my fingers after this project.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, this is my first post (woo hoo!). I just stumbled across these forums today and I can't get enough. The stuff posted here is just amazing!

I made this a few months ago, it's cut out of a large piece of black paper that is a little thinner than card stock and then backed with white vellum. It's about 3.5 feet tall. I used the hardware from an old lamp to light it up.
