2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Craftsters, I need your HELP! (how to make felt charms?) on: November 15, 2007 06:40:34 AM
Right, I don't know if this is the right place to post this query, but seeing as all you jewellery folks are my fave people I thought I'd ask you!

I want to know how to make charms like the ones seen on this bag:

http://www.thebaglady.tv/2007/02/heidi_seeker_we.html

I think they're made of felt, but how?!?! I've also seen some on the heidi seeker website made out of some kind of felt vinyl? I would really love any help or advice any of you guys might have!!

Don't let me down Craftsters!  Cheesy

Basically, me and my friend did our first craft fair on saturday and I was so proud of how good all our jewellery looked that I thought i'd share it with all you lovely trinkets and jewellery folks! hurrah! so here is the polaroid-y goodness!

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Opinions/Help/Stories/Inspirations Needed! :-) on: March 19, 2007 10:23:21 AM
Heya lovely craftsters!
 Cheesy

I have just started my final project in my fashion/textiles/art foundation course. My theme for this project is recycling and I am concentrating on the ideas of crafts/ special objects that get passed down through families. I want to look at these techniques/objects and re-work them to give them new meaning for the modern world (lol, it sounds so waffley!)

I've been looking at stuff like subversive cross stitch and stitch and bitch etc etc to give me ideas, but my main thread (teehee) is looking at buttons!

I'm basically going to be reworking old buttons (mainly from my granny's old button box) into pieces of jewellery that are lovely and marvellous and have a story to them!

sooo, to get to the point! Do any of you have any interesting stories/opinions on crafty stuff that gets passed down to you through word of mouth? I am especially interested in treasure chests of buttons and bits and bobs... TELL ME ABOUT YOUR BUTTON BOXES PEOPLE!

thankye! xxx  Grin

Edit: Or it would be lovely if you could post a picture of your button collections? fabbullousss!
