11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Craftsters, I need your HELP! (how to make felt charms?) on: November 19, 2007 03:01:23 AM
Hmm, thanks guys for all your opinions!

I have been investigating some more and it's still a complete mystery! On the Heidi Seeker (the people who made the bag) Website they call it 'magic felt' and they have some necklaces made from it too. But to me it looks more like Vinyl! So confusing but thats for your help! Cheesy

Right, I don't know if this is the right place to post this query, but seeing as all you jewellery folks are my fave people I thought I'd ask you!

I want to know how to make charms like the ones seen on this bag:

http://www.thebaglady.tv/2007/02/heidi_seeker_we.html

I think they're made of felt, but how?!?! I've also seen some on the heidi seeker website made out of some kind of felt vinyl? I would really love any help or advice any of you guys might have!!

Don't let me down Craftsters!  Cheesy

The clock charms were a real find! Basically we bought them from a lovely lady who used to live in Morrocco and found an old shop clearance, she tracked down the owners and bought the whole lot. The place basically hadn't been touched since the 1960's so it was full of vintage plastic bits and bobs, I was so excited when I heard about it, she had a stall at a local vintage fashion fair and I bought SO much stuff!

I have her e-mail address so If you are interested in getting some of the watch charms pm me and i'll send it to you, not sure if she'll have any left though! Cheesy

Need all your advice!Especially International Folks (I live in the U.K)...

We've just started a bigcartel store (I don't have the right debit card for etsy Sad) and I have a few questions I would like to put to you! www.electricshock.bigcartel.com

1. Would you be put off buying as an international buyer because all the prices are in pounds?

2. Do you think the top banner detracts from the products?

3. Is there too much to look at?

And just any other advice you have! I find it really hard to look at it impartially but I need someone to tell me what its like from a customers point of view! Thanks in advance everyone!  Cheesy

Oh my goodness! so many replies!!  Cheesy

In reply to a few questions:

It is kind of wearable, although it is HUGE, its more of a top than a necklace haha. The main problem with wearing it is that its quite spiky, all the little pieces tend to dig in to your neck a bit :S but oh well! suffer for fashion!

It took us about 5 hours over 2 days to make, we each made alternate colours then joined it all together at the end!

Again, thanks so much for all your lovely comments!
