1  Re: Autumn's Fall Scarf Swap GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by rowenlynn on: November 07, 2009 10:56:57 AM
Hi all. I've missed checking in and seeing all the cool scarves being laid up! Sad

Anyway, I received my package from dizzersinninround! It is great, I will be warm and cute this winter!
Here's a pic of everything.

The colors are best in this photo 'cause all the others I took with the cam in my mac. It is VERY HARD to photograph oneself.

The scarf is a hooded scarf, which is great because my new peacoat has no hood and I don't like wearing hats. It's this cute flannel fabric with puppies and rainbows and smiling daisies.

And here I am bundled up in my coat with the scarf:

Cool arm warmers:

A muff! A MUFF! I've so wanted one but never thought to make/buy one. Mostly because it's not 1902.

Some cute bracelets

2  Suggestions (non-design, technical) - decorating a vinyl/pleather bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by rowenlynn on: September 27, 2009 04:02:19 PM
Hiya fellow craftsters

I have this bag I got to be all professional-looking with, but the dullness is killing me!

So I want to add...something to it, like paint something on it or a fabric applique. I have a few ideas. But, I've never dealt with vinyl/pleather. And since the bag's...made, I don't have extra material to just try these techniques on. So, anyone who has any experience, please advise me on:

-gluing fabric on vinyl/pleather - Is it possible? What type of glue would of recommend?
-painting on vinyl/pleather - Acrylic? Thinned with water? Or matte medium? Spray paints? Oils?

Thanks all

Okay all, I;ve been busy, but here are pics of the three I've recived so far!

From aquasnow, a fluffy teal scrunchy. Took me a while to tell, but it's fluffy yarn wrapped around a band. Super cool and totally matches the teal scrubs I have for work.

Next is this cool flower clip from Peaches Everyday. I'd mentioned I wanted one like the kind Neicy Nass wears on "clean house," and she made me one!!! Squee! And Magoo thinks I look like her...mmmm, maybe.

Action shot

And last, a totally from jadeye!! Love this feathered clip with a butterfly charm on it!

In my hair

Thanks so much you guys!

6  Re: Super Simple Hair Doo Dads Swap - Send by June 29th in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by rowenlynn on: June 15, 2009 03:28:07 PM
Agree with PeachesEveryday  - definitely spend as much time planning/stalking a partner as crafting. I plan to go shopping for supplies tomorrow. Working on the weekends always leaves me too tierd to do anything afterwards.

And here, pics of me for my partners. It is surprisingly hard to get a good shot holding the camera in my hand!

Love both those earings little green dragonfly. Lego trees!

And the mickey soaps bsonlytoots received, too cute. I want some of those Cheesy

As promised, here is what I received from... well, the note and package has her real name, but no clues to her craftster UN, though I guess I could go through the 150+ pages of the ducussion thread to see if there're clues there. Still, I dig it all _____!!

I got a crocheted purple shrug, a kick-ass cupcake wristlet, owl stuffie and a feather clip I LOVE!

Here is a close up of the clip. The feathers are attached by wire wrapped around them, and the lower feathers are hidden my a shell button. I wanted a headband or clip so band since the last season of project runway!

And here it is in action. When I wear it out, I'll style my hair better, just wanted you'all to see it.

A adorable cupcake wristlet. I had a hostess cupcake one on my wists (plus real ones on my shopping list) cause that's what I'd make if I could crochet and this is as great! I love things that look like other things. And I'm all totally impressed ____ made this.

And just another shot.

A little owl stuffie - a little cutie.  I had it one my wists from when I was doing the owl swap the other month. I'm going to use it as a pin-cushion.

And here I am wearing the shrug. It a pretty good fit _____, you did a good job though I don't remember how much measurement info I gave. I just have to sew under the arms so it covers more of my fat girl under arms when I lift my arms.

Thanks so much _____! I love it all. And sorry I wasn't able to post when I got it (stupid mean camera-not-sharing sister)

As promised, here are pictures of the great package I got from thesapphiremoon. Thanks so much again! The picture got rotated when I uploaded it for some reason, but she sent a large tote, a chunky charm necklace and matching earrings, some fairy fabric and a hello kitty notepad!

Close up of the fabric. I wanted a good shot of the fairies, so I turned off the flash, which give it a yellowish hue.

Close-up of the notepad and the card she included:

The charms necklace!

A few close ups

Me wearing it!

This  is a close up the the kick-ass leaf pattern of the tote. As I mentioned, I really love bold graphic patterns! Perfect for spring, if it ever stops snowing here in minnesota!

Plus, it's nice and big, so I can still lug round lots of stuff.
