Awhile back, my friend's little girl got a hot pink pettiskirt from her grandma.  And since I thought it was super fab, I had to make one.  I searched down a a free tute...

Here's a fun upcycled outfit I made for my wee chickadee (and even though she has a fairly strict ONLY PINK CLOTHES policy, she actually likes this outfit...Huzzah!)



It's just a store bought shirt with the twisty rosettes and stems added.  And then the leggings are made from a t-shirt.  I love making leggings out of shirts since you can cut the pants out on the hem of the shirt and then have a professional looking hem.  So easy!

Wow.  It's been awhile since I've posted anything here.  But I thought I'd share these fun shirts I appliqued for my wee girls...

Wee Chickadee's Easter dress.....

For the next dress like this, I made the waist band more narrow.  I think this one is a bit wide. But I haven't snapped a pic of that one yet.







Here's some of those baby legs that are so popular.  But I couldn't find long enough socks, so I took some striped socks and flowered ones, cut them up and alternated them....



Some appliqued tops...







And, why not, eh?  I'll throw in her cute little red riding hood costume from last year....

Ours is a magical relationship full of heat and passion.

I picked up a couple knit tees from Wal-mart for $3 and made these sweet little babydoll tops for my eensy beensy girl.  Then I added some fun appliqués.  Her striped leg warmers are also made from a knit tee and are made pretty much the same way as babylegs.  Except I cut out the fabric for the tubes along the hem so (woot woot!) I don’t have to hem them(the babydoll tops are cut out the same way, along the hem).  Then I add the cuff to the top.

I appliquéd the monster to my little boy’s tee for his birthday.  It was a HUGE hit!  As we were mixing his birthday cake up, he wiggled his belly around in front of the bowl and in a gruff voice, said, “My monster is hungry!”  hahahaha!










I couldn't resist adding the grumpy shot.  Do you think she was tired of me trying to get a cute picture of her?  hahahaha!

Lately I've been doing some fun appliques on tees. 

I gave this monster one to my 4 yo to wear on his birthday.  He LOVED it.  When he helped me make his cake he shook his belly around near the bowl while making munching sounds and said, "My monster is HUNGRY!" heh heh

(oh, and I got the idea for this tee from someone on etsy...erm...If I had time I'd give a link to give them credit....I'll have to do that later)



He also got this one for his bday(we're big fans of robots).

It's hard to see his zig zag mouth in the pics...




It's amazing how wrinkled a shirt gets when it's wadded up and squished into a drawer. 



This belching alien was for my oldest to wear on his birthday...





And here is a wee pear shirt for my wee lass...





All of the appliques were knit except for the pear.  It was just cotton.  And I didn't use a satin stitch (oh! I did for the alien's belch though).  I just stitched around them with a straight stitch, sometimes more than once and with lines that crossed over each other....hmmm.  I hope that makes sense. 

And I used Wonder-under.  I lurve Wonder-under.  A lot.

Here's another dress I made for my chickadee for her birthday....



It's simply a shirred dress with wide shirred straps that look like sleeves.

The yellow fabric is from a thrifted $2 sheet.   When I bought it, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it.  But then I threw it into a pile of fabric and it landed next the this red polka dot.  "OOOOOH!" I thought.  "I liiiiiike that."   

And I wanted to put a bird on it, but then that turned into 3. 



At first, I wasn't sure about it.  But it's grown on me. 







And because I love any excuse to make a matching kansashi (sp??) headband for her...


The headband itself is shirred in the back.

I made my sweet pea a super-girly, shirred, tiered, patchwork shabby chic birthday dress. 

I also made her a matching headband and itty bitty bracelet.  What can I say?  After having 3 boys, I'm having a little bit of fun with this girly stuff...
