I've been paint on and off for two weeks and finally they are done! I've had these shoes for a while and they are the comfiest heels ever! But the heels had become scuffed after being my go-to heel for the past two or three years. After picking up a similar looking heel at the thrift store for two bucks I finally plucked up the courage to risk ruining my favorite shoes. But I didn't ruin them and personally I think they look fabulous considering my poor painting skills.

I painted them using acrylic paint. Afterward I sprayed it with a seal. I'm all about fixing things instead of replacing them, so the the paint is partly functional. I'll definitely wear these a lot longer painted than if the scuffs got worse. They were starting to look a little worn out.

I'd love to join you guys! Currently I hate my apartment. I live in a slum, but I'm stuck here until we can afford better so I've been trying to make it look nice on the inside so I don't go insane.

Right now I'm focusing on my living room/dining room. I have a color palette and design theme. I want to do something kinda lounge-y, artsy. Like Frank Sinatra and a Beatnik would both think I have a rad apartment.



To-Do List
-Replace two large lumpy sofa pillows with large throw pillows. Sorta like this style, but different colors

-paint shelf black with some sort of design on the sides
-do lots of art for the place, including a painting of "The Midnight Lounge", which is the central theme of my design
-find a cheap frame for the print of Starry Night I have, hopefully from a thrift store
-Get a lamp or light that looks cool, and will give off soft light for lounging.
-Get a rug for the living room. Hopefully zebra! (I'm OBSESSED with Zebra. It's almost sad how much Zebra I have in my wardrobe.)
-possibly create some sort of non-traditional chandelier
-Get rid of the old coffee table, and move it's stuff into the ottoman.
-Slip cover the couch?
-hang up the cork board I painted
-Someday get a retro blue neon sign

Still Messy, but the floor plan is way better. It's hard to tell because my place is still looking kinda cruddy/messy, but the new layout makes the space seem bigger, yet less empty. If that makes sense.

There is a a weird angled wall behind the TV I'm not sure what do with. Maybe leave it free of art, since they'd be on a weird angle and we'd be looking at the TV any how. What do you guys think?

My amazing boyfriend agreed to go with me to our friend's Halloween party as Fred and Wilma Flintstone! I made both the costumes, my own patterns. Mine was made from his works old polo shirts (they were slated for the trash since they have the old logo on them) and his was made with orange flannel and peel and stick felt. My necklace was carved floral foam (the green kind) that was then painted. I could have saved a lot of clean up by using those white Styrofoam balls but they were two uniform in size to look like Wilma's rock necklace. It gave a nice rocky-texture too.



My hair isn't as dark as it looks in this photo. It's auburn in real life.

I think we make an awesome Fred and Wilma. What do you think? =)

My prego friends baby shower was a potluck so I made a mess of desert sushi. She's a sushi lover but stopped eating it because of concerns of mercury, thus my decision for desert sushi.

The first row is rice crispy treats filled with gummy worms, wrapped in fruit roll up.
The second row is marshmallow, wrapped in fruit roll up, with little cut up pieces of twistlers to look like fish eggs.
The third row is rice crispy, swedish fish and a little bit of fruit roll to hold it in place.

I didn't get a picture in time, people ate them quick.

I made this for my best friends 21st birthday. Guess what her name is?



I used black canvas and acrylic paints and should've used fabric medium in them but didn't know better until afterwards.

I started this dress ages ago, botched the top of it and I finally got around to finishing it a few days ago. It's not perfect but its one of best clothing items so far. My pattern. I used some cheap  $1.50 a yard fabric from Walmart so no idea what it is, but it stretches just enough to not have a zipper. I have some left over and I'm not sure what to do with it, it might be enough so a skirt but I think two items of clothing with the same fabric is repetitive. Any Ideas??

It's probably not everyone's style but I love it. I wore it tonight to a Johnny Cash tribute concert in the park, in the heart of Folsom (yes that Folsom, from Folsom Prison Blues) which was a lot of fun. ^_^

This dress is the essence of summer session in college. Cool, fun, casual but argyle always represents collegiate-ness to me.

I live in an apartment (although that may be an overstatement) and it comes with really ugly curtains, the kind on a pully system. I dig the pully part of them but the actual curtain is heinous. It's a dingy offwhite with random threads of brown that just make it look dirtier. I have no idea how to make these look good.

Unfortunately the only place we have to put our desks is right against the window. I'm kinda at a loss. The rest of the room I have figured out but this is stumping me.

Ideas?



needless to say, the apartment isn't clean right now. It's getting closer though.
