1  UNITED STATES / Indiana / Another New Yarn Shop Opening in Fort Wayne on: January 08, 2008 10:57:39 AM
Still not affiliated I assume that they got the mailing list from the former Cass Street Depot.

I got a flier in the mail for another yarn shop that is opening January 19th. It's called Sarah Jane's Yarn Shoppe. The grand opening is Saturday January 19, 2008 from 10am-3pm. They are going to have door prizes and refreshments at the grand opening.

The basics:

Sarah Jane's Yarn Shoppe
3400 N. Anthony Blvd. (right beside the bead shop, I checked)
Fort Wayne, IN  46805
260-471-YARN
www.sarahjanesyarnshoppe.com
Hours:
Tuesday & Thursday 10am - 6pm
Wednesday & Friday 10am - 5pm
Saturday 10am - 3pm

This one I'm pretty excited about because it's really close to where I work and I go to the Firefly almost every day on my lunch. Plus, I'm more likely to make it to this yarn shop than the other new one.
2  UNITED STATES / Indiana / New Yarn Shop Opening in Fort Wayne on: December 05, 2007 08:30:43 AM
(I am not affiliated with this store)

For all of those that miss our beloved Cass Street Depot you will be pleased to know that there is a new yarn shop that will be opening on December 28th. The shop owner works a floor above me and she heard from a secretary that I knit so she gave me a flier. I guess it will be run by her and her daughter. Oh and her name is Janet and has received a lot of guidance on opening her shop from Sandy, the former owner of CSD.

The shop is called Knitting Off Broadway. It will be located at 613 W. Brackenridge St., Ft. Wayne, IN  46802. Their phone will be 422-Yarn. Here are the listed hours:
Grand Opening - Friday, December 28 10-5
Open Saturday, December 29 10-5
Closed Sunday Dec. 30 - Tuesday, Jan. 1
Regular 2008 hours - Tues., Wed., Fri. 11-6; Therapy Thursday 11-8 and Sat. 10-4

Then the flier goes on to list some of the yarns that they will carry and a huge listing of classes.

I'm excited because they are close to my favorite cross stitch and framing shop!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Frog Pattern on: March 02, 2007 11:44:20 AM
I am trying to find a pattern for a flat frog to attach to a hat. It should be just a couple of inches in size. Does anyone know of such a pattern?
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Wonder Woman Mitten (Charts Included & img heavy) on: November 25, 2006 03:28:00 AM
Hey everyone I haven't been able to be a Craftster for far far too long. I wanted to share some mittens that I designed for my best friend for Christmas. She is a huge Wonder Woman fan. I don't have both of them completed (nor do I even have this one blocked) but I wanted to share in case anyone else wanted to make these for someone (or themselves) for the holidays.

The pattern is the Generic Mitten pattern: http://www.helloyarn.com/genericnorwegianmitten.htm from Hello Yarn

I used Dale Baby Ull yarn for these

Here are the charts if you would like to make your own. The notes for these are on my blog.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Finding a cardigan pattern? on: March 06, 2006 03:36:20 AM
I've had this cardigan for 10 years. It's been through some rough times and lived a good life but it doesn't fit anymore and has a hole in it, but I cannot get rid of it because it is my absolute favorite sweater. Does anyone know of a pattern that matches? I don't need the fair isle to match I can just chart that part out as it is a basic section repeat.

Any help would be most gratefully appreciated.
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / L's Dolly (with pictures) on: February 21, 2006 03:53:47 AM
I made this dolly for L. She is inspired by the artwork of Gris Grimly and from her feet to the tips of her pigtails she is about 23 inches long. I hope you all like her as much as we do.

I am only at this moment realizing that this is probably not the most glamourous shot

here she is from the back so you can see her tat

And L was really sweet and sent me some pics of her with her dolly

I took pictures before I put her necklace on and L is wearing a similar necklace in this photo which is awesome!

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Please Help with Cigar Pattern on: February 08, 2006 03:55:46 AM
All righty I'm doing my training for the Olympics and reading through the pattern and there is one thing that is confusing me.

Okay here is the pattern: http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer05/PATTcigar.html

On the Thumb Gusset increase rounds this is what it reads: K1, m1, k to end of round, m1.
On the Knitty list of abbreviations m1 means make one stitch. So does that mean that I am just doing a yo there? If not what am I supposed to be doing?
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help with Gryffindor scarf colors on: February 06, 2006 04:25:08 PM
I'm getting KnitPicks Wood of the Andes yarn and I ordered Hollyberry and Pumpkin for the colors, but I can't tell if the Pumpkin is too dark. Should I just stick with it or do you think that Wheat would be a better color?

Here's a link to the colors: http://www.knitpicks.com/yarns/itemid_5420103/yarn_display.aspx

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Branching Out Scarf on: February 06, 2006 10:43:38 AM
I know everyone has seen them before but this one is Mine! This is my second ever knit project. It was knit in 100% silk yarn. It's going to be auctioned off to raise money for our children of employee scholarship fund.
