22  Re: What are you listening to whilst crafting CD Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by hgflower on: March 13, 2006 06:56:06 PM
because i'm bored and i'd rather look at craftster than doing homework:

this is what i sent to my two partners Smiley both have recieved, although one hasn't confirmed it yet, but i'm sure she's probably just delayed on getting back online

for macaulkv i made a mix of grey's anatomy songs featured on the show, because it's just an addicting show with great music! for the small craft, i did some stash busting and made little knitted sushi since we both love this great sushi place where she lives. the sushi seemed a bit plain so i glued some magnets to the back so that they could serve a purpose, and since i didn't want them attatching to random things while being shipped, i used one of those business card magnets to go with it. it's supposed to be an under the sea kinda picture with little fish blobs.. i know the fish could look better, i'm just not that great with scissors (which is why i love this tissue paper! just tear and paste and it looks fine!!)

for my second partner, i made a mix of covers of new wave, some ska, and in general just energetic music Smiley again some stash busting, i made wrist warmers since she's in ohio and i figure it must be pretty cold over there. since her fiance is a fan of ska music, i sent a reel big fish sticker that i had laying around, cause who doesn't love rbf?!  i love the way her cover turned out. i'm really getting addicted to tracing images onto the plastic cover with all my wonderful colors of sharpies!

23  help finding bridesmaid pattern!! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by hgflower on: March 12, 2006 09:29:46 PM
so i'm going to be in my best friend's wedding sometime next spring/summer and we went to david's bridal today to check out the dresses. we found one that's perfect for all the girls to wear, but the color selection isn't that great. are there any patterns out there that are at least similar to this style??

here are a couple pictures of the dress:

Sleeveless charmeuse empire waist tea-length dress with chiffon sash and peek-a-boo hem. Available in Burnt Orange, Jade, and Light Brown.

thanks in advance Smiley

24  Re: Jazz/Blues etc CD Swap (gallery) in The Swap Gallery by hgflower on: March 07, 2006 07:02:42 PM
so i got nushy's cd today Smiley i can't wait to listen to it, but i had to take a picture first since i'm so behind on updating!

twowishes sent me two cd's which are featured in the middle; her cd's are so good my mom stole them!
nushy did a beautiful sketch of ella fitzgerald on the cover of my insert. i'm amazed at people who can sketch and draw. i'm a cheater! i traced the image of schroder onto both covers for nushy and twowishes (as seen on top) i wish i could draw on my own without having to cheat  Tongue
thanks again for organizing this great swap!!

so i finally got a working camera to take pictures of the lovely tin that polkadotgraffti made me Smiley
sorry that the picture is a bit blurry.. and small. i tried to resize it since it took up the whole screen on my computer but now they look itty bitty  Undecided

so you can barely see the elephant on the cover, but he's there Smiley inside were green grapes, a little green bag filled with guitar picks and (i think) lavendar, and small candle. thanks again dorrie Smiley

just finished my 3rd decrease, about 5 cm's from hitting the 35cm mark to start my next round of decreases Smiley

this time i used my cell phone for sizing
and that little, insignificant brown blob on top?? that's all the yarn i have left Sad  :sob:

:sigh: i already ordered another 3 balls from knitpick. didn't realize it would take that much yarn.. damn my fat ass

i *cannot* wait for more yarn to come in.. i just finished intersession so i can focus on knitting again, and now i have a whole weekend of.. not knitting Sad boo to poor planning

30  finally posting some finished xmas gifts in Completed Projects by hgflower on: January 05, 2006 07:37:43 PM
so here are 3 seperate gifts :

my original plan for this project was to do that bottle cutting technique where you burn string and sheer off the top, but after drinking waaaaay too many bottles of frappaccino's and not being able to cut the top off, i came up with this

i bought a set of 4 tall glasses, frosted them with the starbucks logo, and a different coffee flavor on the backs of each. sorry the picture doesn't show the details that well

two plain old navy shirts stencilled for my friend. the blue one has an ass cause we all call him tom-ass Smiley it makes me so happy whenever he wears this shirt!

my first attempt at making a billow Smiley i think it came out pretty well for me winging it! it's too bad i don't have anything next to it for a size reference, but it's a pretty good sized blanket (4 yrds of fabric)

the lovely billow in pillow form!

thanks for looking Smiley
