11  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Embroidery/crochet issue. on: February 21, 2010 07:26:18 AM
Man, I HATE eyes on stuffies.  In my experience, they really make (or in my case, often break) the whole look of the piece.  The eyes in the piggie you were going for are further apart, and down.

That is kind of what you want, I think.  Yours is kind of like this:

Does that make sense?  Good luck fixing it!

Yay destashing!  I'm totally in!

I made this scarf for my aunt for Christmas.  The pattern is from Interweave Crochet's fall 2009 issue.  She was quite pleased with it.

What an awesome idea!  I wonder if it would work with a big honking crochet hook; I have said big honking hook but do not have a loom thingie like that.
16  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: My first adventure into poly clay (and everything went wrong). ^_^; on: January 08, 2010 07:34:38 AM
On behalf of those of us with too many it-is-late-but-I-will-finish-if-it-kills-me-though-the-world-conspires-against-me projects to count...thank you for posting.  And the Heartless is adorable!  Some of those little baddies are way too cute to bop with a Keyblade, if you ask me.

I MISS POTTERY *wailing and knashing of teeth*  Your pretty things make me even more determined to move to a big city and find a studio where I can do this again!  (Took 2 classes in college, got addicted.)

God, looking at poly clay desserts always makes me hungry.  Curse you people and your ridiculously realistic craftsmanship!  Wink

I think they need eyes.  You could needle felt them, or use seed beads.  Yay for ninja turtles!
20  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: D10 Dice bag/stuffie on: December 24, 2009 06:36:59 AM
I googled the pattern on evilmadscientist, and they have one for a d12 now that I want to try and make.  I would try and wing it like you, but I can barely sew a straight seam, so I'm going to at least start with the pattern.  I have some leftover royal blue canvas that I want to use, and the numbers on your bag would look very nice with it.  Do you mind telling where you got them?  Excellent bit of improv, and I know your brother is going to love it!  Guys are great about not noticing the wonky bits of things anyway. Wink
