1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Pretty Pretty Pretty Cabled Abercrombie sweater - any similar patterns? on: June 30, 2007 07:53:04 PM
Let's be honest.  Fitting into A&F clothes is really, really hard.  Sometimes I win, mostly not.  Anyway, I saw this today, but of course I looked like a sausage in saran wrap. ;(

Isn't that construction interesting?  Plus, does this remind you of a pattern?

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

edit: sorry I didn't notice the similar title a few posts down.
2  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Berroco's Kia Kia on: April 17, 2007 04:48:42 AM

http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/kia/kia.html

Anytime I hear something repetitive, I think of Little Caesar's "Pizza! Pizza!" campaign.  Anyway, check out this bad boy.  A nice extension from all those pretty (and long - not south Louisiana friendly) pinwheel jackets.

Anyone with me?

Side note: Apparently, the LC franchise is running strong, I haven't seen one in years!  Sorry board members, some people grasp their fleeting youth by buying expensive cars, I just want pizza. ;(
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What to make with 6 skeins of Sugar and Cream? on: April 05, 2007 08:21:33 PM
Ok, lesson learned.  Never go into fancy pants LYS and ask for cheapie cotton.  As always, I let myself get walked over today when they only ordered 6 tee-baby skeins of (over priced) Sugar and Cream in a beautiful ombre called 'Jewels'. ANYWAY, ladies, let's brainstorm.  I really want a shrug or shawl, something to wear (asking the impossible, I know  Cry .)  I would totally be willing to run to the store and pick up some colors that correspond with the ombre.  Your thoughts? (laughing in my face totally counts as a thought)

Thank you in advance! Smiley
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Britney, you are acting the fool and I want that hat!!! on: November 28, 2006 07:58:46 PM
B tried at first, I'll give her that...

...and then my girl unleashed the beast!

Ladies, I have just got to have that hat!  Ok, maybe not in that obscene color (kind of like a bunch of popcorn on her head, yes?) , but I think it is a lot of fun.  Before you shout "Mary Jane!!!" take a closer look!  Any ideas?
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Micahel's 5-Hour Yarn Event January 29th on: January 24, 2006 05:17:46 AM
At least it is in my town and on the opening page of the website.  Ladies, I highly encourage going, my 10 year old sister won a Knifty Knitter (as if I didn't already own one! Wink )  The teacher at my location was super nice and was giving me some helpful pointers.

Just thought I would share.  Hope this doesn't come across as some Michael's propaganda.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Alternative devil hat (first non-scarf project, yowza!) on: December 14, 2005 09:14:43 PM
Whew, finally done!  Took me about 13 hours to finish (but I'm a slow and crappy knitter.)  My basic-skilled self attempted to follow the classic VW hat pattern: http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/forum/viewtopic.php?t=123  Instead of seed, I just garter stitched (obvs, lolerskates) and then followed the rest.  Made the ear and horn thingies in 10 minutes, I am very proud of myself.

Note to self, never using tee-tiny needles or yarn again.  I'm too impatient.  Tongue
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Dammit, I just bought over 25 skeins of Moda Dea's Eden yarn. on: December 04, 2005 08:52:30 AM
For a quarter each (amazing, I know!!)  This stuff is too tiny for my taste, but what little projects would this be perfect for?
