Was it hard working with fur?

Not really! I trimmed the fur off the sewing allowances (about 3 milimeters) and it helped: no fur was trapped into the seam as I pushed it inside as I stitched.

Here's the second bear I have made and the first toy I made for myself Smiley I make them as gifts but then I saw the pattern (http://www.planet-teddybear.com/bearpatterns/bearpatternspage4.shtml) for this one I just had to make it immediately and keep with me  Smiley Smiley

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / patterns of DOGS on: September 15, 2006 01:29:07 PM
I need some patterns of dogs really badly Smiley Maybe someone knows where to get them? I am not sure what kind of dog I want so I would appreciate any pattern. (I have honestly run search but without much success Smiley)

I've made bears before but never with faux suede - was it OK to work with?

This fabric was really thin and did not fray, so it was a pleasure to work with!

My friend asked for a bear for her birthday:

Here's where I got the pattern: http://www.planet-teddybear.com/pdffiles/A_Teddy_two_Treasure.pdf, their bear looks like this:

but mine turned out rather differently since he's made from faux suede (isn't easy to find mohair where I live, if possible at all  Sad)
His arms, legs and head can turn which makes me very proud Smiley Smiley

You know, his face reminds me of Alf.

That's it! I was thinking and couldn't get it:)

Awww, that is sooo cute  Smiley! Where did you get the eyes?

That...is a sad story Smiley Smiley Smiley Well...that bear was really ugly! And not a single soul ever played with him, he was laying on the wardrope ever since somebody gave him to me Smiley I took a long thought and decided I didn't have to feel guilty Smiley

That is a splendid dragon! Smiley And he does look kind of like I imagined Smaug Smiley

Here's my second toy - a horse for my friend. When she asked for a horse I told her straight away it won't be a graceful noble beast, but neither of us expected the result to turn out SO funny Smiley Smiley Smiley
I used a pattern in the Bean Bag Buddies book (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0715309927/102-5540848-9144124?v=glance&n=283155) - there is one pattern with minor variations for a horse, a bear, a rhino and a hippo, and I guess hippo would be the best from it Cheesy

Somehow I screwed up the tail and attached it ridiculously low, I wanted to change it but my friend said it was ok Smiley
