1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Valentines Teddy! on: February 12, 2008 04:27:39 AM
This is my first go at both stuffed toys, and hand sewing. I think it turned out decently, but I could improve.

This is a present for my boyfriend for valentines. Comments please!

Oh and I apologize for the awful MacBook photo quality. My roommates drunk friend broke my good camera. Sad
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Kalua! Dog-deer with elf on: November 13, 2007 02:32:11 PM
So this is my first embroidery ever. It's a surprise for a guy who lives 1000 miles away, and it's his art. I haven't washed it yet, so ignore the pink lines behind the stitching!

Wide view. Do you think I should add something around the outside of it?

and his original artwork:

What do you think? All feedback is appreciated.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitty Fall 2006 on: September 08, 2006 11:10:03 AM
The fall issue is supposed to come out in early September, if I read correctly. Does anyone have any idea when it's coming out?
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Great LYS on: August 19, 2006 11:32:05 PM
So the other day I was in my LYS, and I think the guy who works there loves me. We always chat about random things, and knitting of course.

However, this day, I was fondling a beautiful skein of malabrigo. SO, SO, So soft. He showed me a pair of mittens that had been made out of this same yarn, I fell in love. However, I'm kind of a cheapskate. I just kept looking at this yarn, probably looking sad.

Then he offered to chop off 4 dollars off of the price of the skein, and (illegally, teehee) photocopy the mitten pattern so I wouldn't have to buy the 20 dollar booklet that it came from.

It was overall, a splendid trip.

Anyone else feel like sharing some LYS love?
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / So I bought some sock yarn.... on: June 14, 2006 06:18:00 PM
GORGEOUS hand painted sock yarn.

However, I have a problem. I HATE knitting socks. I have oh... 930 yards of it. Anyone know of any patterns I could use this for?

(anything but socks of course Smiley)
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / screen fabric on: October 08, 2005 10:39:08 PM
allo ladies and gents.

I'm going to be doing some screening for my theatre art classes production, and i wanted to know if any of you know of anywhere i could get some cheap screen fabric, and not with a minimum purchase of 100$ (my budget is significantly smaller than that, and i wouldn't need that much either). Or even something that I could get at a fabric store relatively cheap that would do the trick?

Oh and I live in Canada.
