FINALLY!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to my swap buddy for this hideous creation. She sent me some cute accessories to add to the sweater but I think Im going to make earrings with them instead :-)

Also dyed my hair just today, figured it would match the sweater quite nicely :-)

5  Nyan Cat Cake - failure or success? in Dessert by KeenBean on: August 24, 2011 04:54:57 PM

Had a cake competition at work and I had a grand scheme of making fondant and pop tarts and magical rainbows.... then I got horribly sick up to the day before the competition so I had to settle for the fastest recreation my tired self could make.

I am sharing this in case anyone needs a super quick nyan cat cake idea that doesn't break the bank. I used M & M's for the rainbow, poptart for the poptart, then bought a thing of white frosting and used food coloring to make the colors I needed.

Enjoy!

6  Are you having a bad day? in Needlework: Completed Projects by KeenBean on: August 23, 2011 08:57:46 PM

Made this AGES ago and just realized I never uploaded any photos of it! I love this saying so I threw together a pattern for it. Depending on who you are it is either very motivational or can be considered maybe a bit rude? You decide!

7  Re: How do you organize your stash? in Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions by KeenBean on: August 08, 2011 09:59:45 PM
How do I organize my fabric stash? I DONT:

ha ha kidding. This was the great fabric sort of 2011 a month or so ago. I dont have a craft room so I organized everything in tubs according to the type of fabric and labeled the containers to stack nicely in my garage!

Hey my swapped gifts came in handy today! My cat Nu had to go to the vet today to stay over night to get spayed really early in the morning, I slipped her cat toys and blanket that whisp3rd made into her cage to keep her comfy, she really loves that blanket and I hope it makes her less nervous, thanks again whisp3rd!!!

( riiiight there you can see the tip of her blanket this was while we were heading in to the vets office)

hahahah! No I wasnt trying to make fun of your dog! I was just trying to think of something long that would fit in a dogs mouth so it could carry it around hehe! and I guess I must have elusive blue q-tips, because the ones in my bathroom are that color :-)

I had to think long and hard about what kind of pillow to make so I just stared at all my fabrics and that little alien bug came to me :-)

here are some photos of it before it went away, Nu couldnt keep her paws off of it, literally I tried dragging her out of the picture but she kept running back!

an example of her running into the frame

I got her to behave for about 5 seconds here. But that was it!

I got home today and found my lovely package from whisp3rd!! About 5 seconds after I opened the envelope the cat was all over the stuff. I was originally going to wait until tomorrow morning to take photos, but she was having so much fun so I had to do it tonight!

Here is Nu with her loot:

A cat blanket, a cute dog toy, a little yarny thing, a hat ( too crazy, she cant wear it yet) and this totally crazy cat saddle hah! it might be like a neck warmer for her, but she is still kinda small so she was wearing it as a saddle.

She was rolling around playing with this in my lap and just as I took the photo she accidentally dropped it and looked longingly at it.

Here, it only took her about 5 seconds, and me about 10 seconds to realize this treat box wasnt for her, it was for my gerbils instead heheh.

here is one of the two rightful owners of this gift, Digit the gerbil, picking out her treat to eat for dinner.

hurray! Everything was really cute thanks a bunch!
