11  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Fish Tank/Aquarium on: January 31, 2006 08:35:56 PM
you could make faux fish-- hang fish cutouts or stuffed fish from string inside the empty tank. i saw this at a gift shop as a childrens toy with wooden fish hanging inside it (except it was made to look like a tv fish tank.)

15  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / felted skull bag on: November 13, 2005 12:32:16 PM
here it is

 cast on 42 st
stockinette for 14 rows.
place marker and pick up stitches all around the edges
knit in the round for 14 rows.
center chart on front (count 11 and start chart)

go here for chart: http://www.helloyarn.com/miniskulltote.htm
its a little painful weaving in all those ends... i left a really long tail when i started the green color and used it on the next row to cut down on the ends left.
after chart knit two rows with purple
one row green
two rows purple
two rows green
two rows purple
cast off
i knit the handles seperately with green and attached to inside after felting. (the bag is currently unlined but i plan to add a lining with a pocket maybe)
i didnt felt it much because i didnt want it to get too small and so you can still see the stitches.
let me know if anyone wants to make this and cant understand my explanation....

16  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: Stuffed Animal Patterns? on: October 30, 2005 09:49:47 PM
maybe make the praying bunnies hold something? maybe something scandalous!
ive been getting my daughter's stuffed animals together to get rid of but ive started cutting them up instead of giving them away. i started making little purses out of them for my daughter (she doesnt need a ton of stuffed animals but a girl can never have too many purses)  Wink
anyway why dont you try ripping the seams out of an animal and cutting out another one to reconstruct with different fabric/fur?
17  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / make your own souvenir craftalong on: October 19, 2005 01:23:14 AM
anyone interested?
i was invited to sell my crafty goodness at a local toystore.
i was thinking about making souvenirs to sell and i thought it would be fun to see what every one else would make for their own cities/states.
i live in austin tx and i was thinking about knitting little bat toys with i <3 congress on the tummy (for those of you not familiar we have bats under our congress bridge) or knit some little armadillos.
who's with me?

19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: 10 new basic rings! on: October 18, 2005 10:10:28 AM
http://www.italiancharmers.com/newcharms.htm
they are those beads with two holes through them.

i found some clearance bracelets once that were really cheap and took them apart.
i like using the beads for other stuff because of the extra hole.
anyway the link is the only one i could find that wasnt really expensive although ive never bought anything from them.
the rings you made look great tho!
