This is my first craft challenge entry....
So my sis and I were thrifting when I came across a 35mm movie reel the tin said it was supergirl but when we held the strip to the light we discovered it wasn't supergirl. definitely porn. definitely needed to be a craft of some sort. They only charged me $2 for it. so that is my final cost since everything else was scavenged in my house.

  • 35mm porn
  • brown thread
  • brown satin fabric
  • lamp shade frame
  • scissors
  • crochet hook
  • hot glue
I cut strips of film and crocheted them together with brown thread making a chain stitch up the holes.

hot glued strips of satin (sewed and turned tubes) to top and bottom. slipped the white piece of plastic inside that was part of the original lamp...  im assuming this is safer than having the film directly in front of the light so it wont melt.

this lamp is definitely going to my sisters house. i cant keep such a thing in my house with a kid but it was fun to make.
sorry to everyone... admin has advised me not to send out the porn....no way to verify age etc.

5  felted skull bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by heysonja on: November 13, 2005 12:32:16 PM
here it is

 cast on 42 st
stockinette for 14 rows.
place marker and pick up stitches all around the edges
knit in the round for 14 rows.
center chart on front (count 11 and start chart)

go here for chart: http://www.helloyarn.com/miniskulltote.htm
its a little painful weaving in all those ends... i left a really long tail when i started the green color and used it on the next row to cut down on the ends left.
after chart knit two rows with purple
one row green
two rows purple
two rows green
two rows purple
cast off
i knit the handles seperately with green and attached to inside after felting. (the bag is currently unlined but i plan to add a lining with a pocket maybe)
i didnt felt it much because i didnt want it to get too small and so you can still see the stitches.
let me know if anyone wants to make this and cant understand my explanation....

7  mohair skirt (ex-sweater) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by heysonja on: October 12, 2005 12:14:23 AM
i found this fabulous flowing sweater at a garage sale for a dollar. it was a hideous sweater...and itchy... as a skirt its great with a pair of hose.
i undid the seams around the arms and cut off the top just below the collar.
the slits of the skirt are where the arms used to be. i just ran a piece of similar yarn through the stitches where i cut and sewed a piece through the waist to tie and keep it up...
anywho here it is
