1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / oversized beanie? (more pics added) on: October 16, 2007 10:22:06 PM
i can figure out a pattern (or modify one)......but i was wondering what dimensions shoulf i make the beanie if i want the same effect as this one?  thanks!

here's a reversable red striped/red without hole on top (actual beanie style)

and here's one showing the beanie - but i don't like the holey look.

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / need help finding sweater pattern on: September 17, 2007 11:25:26 PM
hi - i've been eyeing this sweater since the end of last year, but the designer has not posted the full instructions & i really wanted to knit it for this fall. i've even seen similar sweaters at Old Navy & Target - and i so want to knit my very own. she has the top part of the sweater posted...but i have no idea how to do the body (as in increases to get the right flare to it). does anyone know of a very similar pattern? TIA!

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / blocking board on: February 22, 2006 01:01:24 AM
ok, i know i could make one for a lot cheaper.....but i don't have the time nor the patience (nor the skills since i aim for perfection but stink at it....i know, i know.  doesn't make sense - an imperfect perfectionist)  and i have to research before making the decision to make such an important and expensive purchase.

which would be a better investment?  18" x 24" or the  33''x51'' blocking board?  Assume that i would be using a joanns coupon  Grin  i mean, the larger one sounds great for when i need to block sweaters.  but would the 18x24 suffice, too?  has anyone used blocking boards these sizes and have any comments?

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / yarn ball winder on: February 19, 2006 07:57:21 PM
ok. so joann has 2 types of ball winder.  a plain white one that has original cost of $49.99, and a white and read one for $39.99.  My question is - what is the red button/knob for on the $39.99 ball winder?  the plain white one doesn't have it.
Thanks in advance!!  Grin
