I made this really adorable turtle for my nephew for Christmas. His shell is like a vest and comes off!

I've never written a pattern before. So here is my first attempt. If one of you great crafters attempts to make this Felix Turtle, let me know if I should correct anything on the pattern!

With thread, sew eyes to sides of head, with color A and yarn needle, sew head, tail, and legs to body.
Assemble Shell
Arrange side tiles around the center tile (shortest edges of side tiles aligned with each edge of center tile). With color A, slip stitch tiles together.
Shell Edging: Join Color A with sl st in edge of shell, sl st evenly around edge; join with sl st in first st. Fasten off
With Color C sew the edges of vest to underside of shell beneath last A colored round. Sew buttons to vest, opposite buttonholes.
Weave in all ends, slip turtle into shell and button vest closed.
