Here it is, weekender #2.  I've been saving this fabric for a very long time waiting for something good, and here it is.  It's a bit too monochromatic for my taste, but I figured that out too late in the game (like yesterday when I finished making it).  But it is still a bag that's near and dear to my heart.
  

 

Here's my new bag.  It makes me happy, although it was a prototype and there are things I would change for the next one.  It still makes me happy, though.

I finished a weekender from Ikea fabric just waiting for good use!  I'm so excited!  Just in time for my friend who is about to move to DC.  She'll get this one as a going away gift.

   

I added a zip and panel pocket on the inside.  I made sure to line up the design on the front and back, and inside the zip pocket.  It was fun to make, a bit of a pain at times (literally when I stuck myself with pins).   I would have to say that attaching the lining was the biggest hassle, but I'm already planning my next one.

made from the same simplicity pattern several have referenced here...although I modified the pattern to make a finished edge inside the handle.  The pattern leaves it raw (why?).
This is the front of the bag, the back matches the handles/lining. I added a slash-type pocket inside.  It's a christmas gift for some yet-to-be-determined friend. 

Ha!  I just noticed that all the bags I've posted so far are brown.... I'll try to avoid it on my next bag.

I've been enjoying Craftster for a while now, but here's my first post. It's a new look pattern, but I added pockets that were inspired by Craftster posts.

I gave it lots of pockets, like the small one on the side and the zipper pocket on the front.
