1  Weekender #2 in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Mela on: August 05, 2006 02:04:30 PM
Here it is, weekender #2.  I've been saving this fabric for a very long time waiting for something good, and here it is.  It's a bit too monochromatic for my taste, but I figured that out too late in the game (like yesterday when I finished making it).  But it is still a bag that's near and dear to my heart.

2  Thistle bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Mela on: August 05, 2006 01:48:20 PM
Here's my new bag.  It makes me happy, although it was a prototype and there are things I would change for the next one.  It still makes me happy, though.

3  YEAH! A Weekender! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Mela on: June 23, 2006 08:39:58 AM

I finished a weekender from Ikea fabric just waiting for good use!  I'm so excited!  Just in time for my friend who is about to move to DC.  She'll get this one as a going away gift.

I added a zip and panel pocket on the inside.  I made sure to line up the design on the front and back, and inside the zip pocket.  It was fun to make, a bit of a pain at times (literally when I stuck myself with pins).   I would have to say that attaching the lining was the biggest hassle, but I'm already planning my next one.

4  another cut-out handle bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Mela on: November 17, 2005 08:28:47 AM
made from the same simplicity pattern several have referenced here...although I modified the pattern to make a finished edge inside the handle.  The pattern leaves it raw (why?Huh).
This is the front of the bag, the back matches the handles/lining. I added a slash-type pocket inside.  It's a christmas gift for some yet-to-be-determined friend.

Ha!  I just noticed that all the bags I've posted so far are brown.... I'll try to avoid it on my next bag.

5  Re: Amy Butler Bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Mela on: November 17, 2005 08:20:32 AM
Here's my recently made Amy Butler bag.  I think it's the Uptown or Downtown...I don't remember. It's lined with black and has a zip pocket. I'm really happy with it.  My friend is getting it for her birthday.
I just invested in 3 more patterns, including the new weekender, which I'm very excited about (yet somewhat intimidated, it looks difficult).

6  Re: Zipper pocket tutorial (messenger bag & jordy bag) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Mela on: October 19, 2005 06:59:40 AM
I love this tute!  It has become my standard pocket, because it's so easy and great-looking!  I have also used it as a zipperless pocket, because I Like the way it shows off the pocket fabric especially when it contrasts with the lining fabric, as it does in this bag.  Hope you can see it.

7  My New Messenger in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Mela on: October 18, 2005 10:15:40 PM
I've been enjoying Craftster for a while now, but here's my first post. It's a new look pattern, but I added pockets that were inspired by Craftster posts.

I gave it lots of pockets, like the small one on the side and the zipper pocket on the front.
Thanks for looking!
