Hoard anything that looks interesting!  You'll wind up with a room full of crap, but you'll love it.

Really, I just want to say I love your avatar, and your user name.  Way cool!
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / How and Why -- Buying a Vintage Sewing Machine on: February 21, 2008 07:44:57 AM
Hello.  In case someone might find the info helpful, I've written a little series on buying and using vintage sewing machines.

I'm a huge fan of old machines.  They are inexpensive, easy to come by, generally better built than today's machines, and easy to use.

Thank you so much for the speedy, helpful response.  This will be my first foray into kids' clothing and you've given me a good general sense about sizing.

Thanks again.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Help with pattern size for a 4 year old, please on: July 05, 2007 04:46:23 PM
Hi.

I want to make a jumper or a cute top for my friend's daughter who is turning 4 this month.  I want it to be a surprise, so I don't want to ask my friend to measure her.  How do pattern sizes run for children?  At four, she's no longer considered a toddler (I'm pretty sure).  Would the size generally correspond to her age?  So, she's four so I make a size four?  Is this a completely dorkified question?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thnx!
