I received Anya Kase's amazing
swap package in the mail today. She totally spoiled me! I probably wasn't the easiest person to craft for, since I combine Christianity and witchcraft, but she was so cool about it!
Here's everything all laid out, so prettily wrapped:
She made me a candle holder in the shape of a triskele--a triple spiral, which was an important symbol for me:
The detail on this is amazing--I want to know how you made the little flowers, Anya Kase! I've never worked with polymer clay before but you've totally inspired me!
Next I got this framed celestial cross stitch. The pic doesn't really do it justice. The colors are bright and really pop out, and the needlework is just fabulous. I'm going to hang this up somewhere. I have to ask, did you use a pattern or make it up yourself? And
I got this lovely bag with an image of Mary Magdalene on it, done by a Pre-
Raphaelite artist, which means Anya Kase is psychic or something, because the Pre-Raphaelites are my favorite art movement ever
The pic is an iron on transfer she made. She added a quote from a Tori Amos song about Mary Magdelene: "The red of the red rose is its own/And something no man can divide". And guess what? Tori Amos is one of my favorite singers. And I never mentioned any of this in my questionnaire!
Psychic, I tell you.
Thank you so much, Anya Kase, for the wonderful swap experience. You really went above and beyond. I'm touched by all you crafted for me.
