1  RESPEKT in Stenciling: Completed Projects by epeel42 on: August 28, 2006 12:28:28 PM
I made this shirt for my sister's birthday at the beginning of the summer; the picture is a stencil i made from the cover art of regina spektor's new album, and the name and stars are freehanded.  I haven't been able to stencil anything else all summer; i need to get started again!

*Edit: here's the stencil--I took it right off the album cover.  Good luck cutting out the hair, it took me ages. Happy stenciling!

2  2 favorite bands, 2 favorite shirts! in Stenciling: Completed Projects by epeel42 on: May 18, 2006 01:05:31 PM
These are a couple more t-shirts i've made, of two of my favorite bands.  The Black Keys one I made a while ago to wear to their concert; the tapes 'n tapes one i just made today, with help from stencilry for the cassette and crossbones. Hope you like them!

(you can't really tell, but the words on the second one are silver! hooray for shiny paint!)

3  Elephant shoes in Shoes: Completed Projects by epeel42 on: May 11, 2006 02:01:05 PM
I love everyone's fake-vans recons, so i decided to try my hand at it; hence, my elephant shoes!

(the elephant is from stencilry)

The sides

The paint looks a little wonky in some places, but i think it was just wet. I love my new shoes!

4  Sister Wendy is my homegirl in Stenciling: Completed Projects by epeel42 on: May 11, 2006 01:41:30 PM
I stencilled this shirt for a friend who takes an art history class; for anyone who doesn't know, Sister Wendy is a highly entertaining nun who does an art history tv show-she's got massive glasses, buck teeth...sorry about the picture, it's a little hard to see.

6  3 t-shirts--> 2 pretty tank tops in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by epeel42 on: February 02, 2006 12:49:47 PM
I had a bunch of white t-shirts that my mom got on sale at the grocery store, but were far too big to wear as-is.  So I took some dye that I've had lying around for about 6 years and dyed 2 of the shirts turquoise; then I made two tank tops out of them, inspired by wordtoashley's shirt:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=26566.0
This was the first one I made:

the straps are braided:

later on, I decided to stencil a lotus onto it:

Then, I made this one for a friend:

Hooray for my new camera!

7  Re: cello strings and gee-tar picks! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by epeel42 on: November 07, 2005 03:49:16 PM
Thanks, guys! BiscottiTogs, here's a closeup of the closures

I basically just put a crimp bead on towards the end, strung on a clasp, and then crimped on another crimp bead and trimmed the end. hope that helps! Oh, and your pins sound really cool!

8  Animal fetish necklaces (IMG heavy) in Beads: Completed Projects by epeel42 on: November 07, 2005 03:28:05 PM
My friend and I had a jewelry-making extravaganza the other day, so I have lots of new stuff to post!
I had these two animal fetish beads, and decided to hang them both on triple strands of seed beads.

The dolphin kinda looks like it's diving!
Thanks for looking!

9  cello strings and gee-tar picks! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by epeel42 on: November 07, 2005 02:50:09 PM
First off, I'd just like to say that I recently discovered craftster, and I'm in heaven here! Thank you everyone for all the awesome inspiration you've given me!
Okay, so here's my first projest post.  I play both the cello and guitar, so I decided to combine those two with my third love-crafting!-and came up with these:

The "wire" is  an old, broken cello string

I love this one-it has three fake abalone guitar picks, connected with jump rings.

The black "bead" on the bottom is the part on the bottom of a string which hooks it onto the cello.  Because the strings are not at all shapeable, I attached the clasps between two crimp beads.
Hope you like them!
