1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Interweave Spring 2006 on: March 02, 2006 05:38:16 PM
My first experience with them was great. My mom bought me a gift subscription and gave me the certificate for it along with the winter issue that she'd bought from a bookstore. Then IK sent me the winter issue too! I emailed them explaining what had happened and they very graciously offered to extend my issue to next winter. I was so pleased since they really didn't have to do that.

But now I'm worried because the Spring Issue hasn't arrived. I know I must be in the system since I've already received one issue. I sent an email and now I must wait... It makes it so much harder to be patient with all of you so excited about the patterns!!!  Tongue

I finally signed up. I'll be knitting the Fringed Collar Jacket from Vogue Knitting Winter '03/'04.

It should be a challenge since it will be my first completed sweater if I succeed (I have another in progress). I told my mom that I'd make her a sweater; the jacket was her choice out of about 20 books and magazines I gave her to look through. I'll be happy to be done with it since I'm a big snob about yarn and she chose a sweater made with Lion Homespun.Tongue  Plus she's really looking forward to getting it soon. So everyone wins.

Good luck to you all, I can't wait to get started!  Grin

George- Thanks for the tip, I actually did use the about.com suggestions for a no-holes right slanting M1. I just don't like it, it looks ugly. I suppose I should stop being a perfectionist and just deal with it.  Tongue

GRRR!!!  Angry I hate these stupid gloves. I want to throw them across the room. I'm having a problem with the thumb gusset increases on the right glove, they're so ugly. I'm using a right-slanting M1, lifting the yarn btw the stitches with the left needle and knitting it from the front. It looks awful. I've torn it out and started over like five times. What is the nicest looking way to make right slanting increases for the right glove? Thanks for all the help...
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Spring '06 IK Preview up on: January 19, 2006 06:44:42 PM
I actually loved the patterns, maybe I'm biased because I got a subscription for Christmas. I think two of the tanks are adorable and I like the Caftan Pullover and the Circle Jacket. I can't wait!  Smiley

Snaggletooth- Here's what I'm trying, I'd love to hear if this sounds right. For the right hand mitten's thumb gusset increase, I'm knitting to the third needle, knitting two stitches, increasing, then adding the purl stitch (I did it on the other side, I want them to be uniform). So what do you think, am I on the right track? Thanks TONS!  Smiley

That is so awesome! I love argyle, can you please post a pattern?
Thanks!  Kiss
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Shiny Dragonfly. on: January 16, 2006 08:16:08 AM
I'm working on something similar right now. I love how functional that design is, I think pockets and dividers are essential to a useful purse. Thanks for sharing, looks great!  Kiss

Wow, thanks so much, snaggletooth! What a beautiful drawing, I always admire you technical people who can do things like getting a drawing online. It does help a lot. I'm definitely going to be looking at it as I frog and re-knit. Who knows if it'll be enough to make me succeed, but I'll keep you posted. Tomorrow, I rip. Thanks again! Wink

Huskrkid, thanks for the help. I see what you're saying. I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist, so I'd really like to get it looking the same as the other side. I'll frog down and mess with it a bit. Let me know when you get to that point; I don't mind waiting, I've got another project going.  Grin Thanks again!
