1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Craft paper and foam board on: February 21, 2009 01:54:15 PM
I have a question about the best way to attach foam board to craft paper.

I'm decorating my classroom door for Read Across America week and I have the door covered in craft paper.  I really want to carve some foam board and attach it to the door for a nice 3-D effect.  It's rather thin, 3/16 in (5mm) thick, but basically the whole door would be covered.  I can't decide if it would be best to glue the board to the paper on the door or use double stick tape, or both.  I would hate for panels to pop off anytime I open the door.  I can't do/use anything that would damage the door, and it will only be up for 4 days.  Any suggestion would be great.

3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Baby Bouquet with tutorial on: March 07, 2008 05:14:45 PM
Thanks everyone  Smiley  This took a couple hours to make and is so cute, I'm sad to see it go, but I think this will be easier to ship than a diaper cake or wreath, so it's worth it  Tongue  If anyone makes one of these, post it! it's great to see different versions  Cheesy
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Baby Bouquet with tutorial on: March 07, 2008 03:58:10 PM
My cousin is having her first baby shower, and being the crafty one in the family, I wanted to do something special.  I looked around at diaper cakes and diaper wreaths when I stumbled across a baby bouquet. After much searching I found how to make them, so here is my take at a baby bouquet.

I added 3 board books I found at Target.  She loves frogs, hence the ribbon and box decoration  Smiley

Basic tutorial:

a wooden box
plastic/silk leaves and small flowers
baby clothes (I used all white, 8 socks, 5 onesie's, 3 kimono style shirts)

I painted frogs, her favorite animal

and here's how it looks on the box-

The back and inside I painted the same color as the frogs.  Then I made my bouquet based off this tutorial:  http://www.marthastewart.com/article/baby-bunch-bouquet

Here's a onesie, a sock, and a shirt

and here's 14 flowers grouped into 9 bunches.

I cut an old shoe box to fit inside the box and poked 9 holes to hold the flowers.

Here's how it looks with all the flowers:

To hide the stems, I placed tissue paper around the inside, two sheets, one fluffed up, and one fluffed down.

There you go, hope you enjoy!  Cheesy
