21  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: what should i make with handmaiden silk ribbon yarn? on: March 17, 2007 07:20:32 PM
It sounds lovely, but I can't find any pics of it.  Can you post a link?

i guess a link would have helped Smiley

here's the photo i had on my blog, that i guess i thought y'all could read my mind and find, lol.  it's bad when i post pre-coffee.

i have 3 skeins coming.  i have no idea what to do with it.

i also have 5 skeins of makalu bamboo ribbon yarn that i dyed a very soft sage green and set aside for myself.  i could redye them to go with the silk ribbon (it's the mermaid colorway) and mix them together?

don't know.  just thinking.

what would you do?

beautiful, the clapotis looks like it was a lot of work, and I really like your shrug, its very cute and im really liking the funkyiness of the different colors, what pattern is that?, very cool!!

it's the anthropologie shrug pattern (you can search this forum and find it, i'm sorry, i don't have the link on this computer).  i modified it a little bit to fit me, but it's a very quick, easy pattern.

What sock yarn is that? I can see why your daughter is eyeing it :-)

it's colinette's jitterbug in toscana.  actually, the same colorway as the anthro shrug!

Clapotis

Shrug
This has actually been finished for awhile, but i never got a good picture of it.

Sock in Progress
I'm in LOVE with this colorway.  Sadly, my daughter is too so i have a bad feeling this pair isn't going to be for me.

i neglected to say this cat is the smaller of two sibling kittens we got in september.  her brother is enromous.  we should have named him godzilla instead of harry potter.  Smiley

i finsihed the clapotis this morning.  no pics b/c i finished it while with ds #4 who thought the weekend was a good time to have an asthma attack and get admitted to the hospital.  he's doing fine now, but i had him wrapped in the almost finished clapotis in the er, which he really liked, and wove in the ends this morning.

i've gotta say i love the solid.  and this yarn feels great.  i know have a hankering to do some mini clapotis in the pattern yarn.  does anyone know which of the henry's attic yarns is most like lion and lamb?

the jury duty comment made me laugh.  my dh is a judge, and in passing, he mentioned a couple of weeks ago that he lets jurors knit, not just during selection but when they're in the box taking testimony. no joke -- he told me with a straight fact that he believes it doesn't compete with your ability to listen and take it all in.

wonderful to know that a man can be educable, isn't it?  i had no idea he had figured that out.

What a beautiful boy--and what a huge cat!

that, my dear, is an eight month old kitten.  we fear his ultimate size Smiley

peace fleece is a joy to work with.  and i love to dye the natural skeins because they take the colors so beautifully.  it is also great to felt with, definitely run on over to their site and do some stash expansion  Grin

Not one, but two finished items this week Smiley

woo hoo!  woo hoo!  after two months of knitting!

i did the full size clapotis, and it's huge!

i still have to let the stitches run down a few more rows and weave in all the ends, but i have a preliminary picture

The peace fleece vest knit up very quickly and like a dream.  This pattern is perfect.  One of the few I have ever knit that I would say that about.  Simple, but perfect.
