11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Art Journal Round Robin on: May 22, 2007 10:31:46 AM
Very nice.  How was this started?

It was a round robin i hosted in an artist's group -- we sent our journals back and forth all over the country for a year and it was a whole bunch of fun.

i just finished up a year long artist's journal round robin.

the outside was a plain felted cover.

the art all spills out once you open in, and the felt inside is decorated with mohair locks and crystals and bells.

and have photographed the art and put it up on my blog if you want to take a look.

there were some amazing artists in the round robin and it has everything from felt to painting to quilting to collage.  There are photos of each individual piece on my blog.

i finished this a little bit ago and forgot to post it.  the question about clappys in the other forum reminded me.  so here it is.

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Clapotis question on: April 22, 2007 06:29:52 AM
i have some advice for you -- i loved knitting my clapotis (there are pictures on my blog, i don't think i ever posted it here, i probably should go back and do that) but i used a yarn that made it really hard to "run" the rows of stitches and i had to pick them out by hand.  by the end i was really getting tired of that!  so i would look around and use a yarn that people specifically note is easy to work with in that fashion!  i think the gifts will be a hit and you will have no trouble with it.  it's an easy pattern.
16  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Re: I'm a dyeing fool! (Warning - image heavy!) on: April 03, 2007 07:00:22 PM
That's gorgeous yarn, both before and after dying. Where do you get the undyed yarn, if you don't mind sharing?

among many other places, you can get undyed at dharmatrading.com

artsygal--what is an electric reskeiner?

skeining is the bane of my existence.  i've been trying to reskein from a swift to a skein winder (i have a mama bear and i love it) but it's cumbersome and seems to take me like half an hour to do one skein.  i always feel like i'm doing something wrong.

any advice for me?

20  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Cotton aran weight yarn? on: March 17, 2007 07:21:30 PM
inca cotton is a henry's attic yarn.  they have several aran weight cottons.  you can get it undyed and dye it to suit yourself which is a plus, too.
